"Zero X" Family Word Research

The generation of "ling X（零 X）" family words is affected by language communication,mainly in the process of translating English "zero X" terms.It was only used in some professional fields at the earliest and did not enter the daily vocabulary.With the promotion of news,periodicals and internet media,the words of the "ling X（零 X）" family have been noticed by the public,and have been widely used and disseminated.At the same time,the grammaticalization of "ling（零）" has been developed from the numeral to the quasi-affix.Based on quantitative statistics,the "X" that can be combined with the quasi-affix "ling（零）" to form a word can be nouns and noun phrases,verbs and verb phrases,adjectives,and multi-category words.Most of "X" are disyllabic words.The semantics of "X" must have [+number] features.The part-of-speech of "ling X（零 X）" family words is consistent with the part-of-speech of "X",the verb or verb phrase enters the "ling X（零 X）" structure,and the referentialization occurs,the predicate is dropped,and the substantive is increased.When the adjective enters the "zero X" structure,"nominalization" occurs,and the semantics is transferred from the referring attribute to the referring thing.At the same time,the main syntactic functions of the "ling X（零 X）" structure are investigated from both macroscopic and microscopic perspectives,and the meanings of the "ling X（零 X）" family words are refined,which are classified into six categories: "no X" "cannot X" "exempt X" "X is empty" "X is in the lowest state" and "a certain measurement benchmark".According to the study of the applicable context of "zero X" group words,it is found that "zero X" group words are mainly used in leaders’ speeches,news reports and other formal language,but seldom used in informal language such as daily conversations.Through comparative research,it is found that the negative morphemes "ling,bu,fei,wu（零、不、非、无）" are different in terms of part-of-speech selection,semantic restriction and negation angle of the composition "X",and these differences enable them to coexist and be used in the modern Chinese vocabulary system.There are four main reasons for the popularity of "ling X（零 X）" family words: 1.To adapt to the economic principles of language.2.It caters to the psychology of language users seeking advantages and avoiding disadvantages,and is in line with the active thinking of contemporary people to seek novelties and differences.3.The "ling X（零 X）" structure puts the focus "X" in front to transmit information efficiently.4.Internet media and social environment help the development and dissemination of "ling X（零 X）" family words.
