Negative Constructions And Teaching Strategies Are Common In Modern Chinese

This paper studies three common surplus negative constructions"???VP","??A"and"???VP"in contemporary Chinese language and provides relevant teaching strategies."???VP"can be divided into the case of apparent definition and negative definition.In the case of negative definition,"???"is used as an adverbial modifying"VP",and when"??"is used as an adverbial modifying"?VP",it means affirmation.When expressing the definition of apparent,VP often has the characteristic of"normal",and when expressing the definition of negative,VP often has the characteristic of"abnormal"."???VP"expresses emotions more strongly than"??VP",and is more dependent on context.The frequency of“???VP”`s usage is not as high as"??VP",and at the same time it has a different ideological focus from"??VP"."??A"can be divided into"??A1"of positive definition,"??A2"of negative definition,and"??A3"whose meaning is ambiguous.When making a positive definition,"??"is used as an affirmative adverb to modify A.When“??A”making the definition of negative,the negative adverb"?"is mainly used to modify A;the semantics and color of“A”have a greater impact on the direction of the meaning of"??A".The rhythm of"??A"is neat and expresses emotions more strongly,has stronger subjectivity,stronger expressiveness,and can reflect the principle of politeness to a certain extent.When the"??"in"??VP"is a verb,adding"?"can constitute the negative construction"???VP"."VP"is usually a verb word(group)or a prepositional word(group),often used in the imperative sentence."???VP"has two semantic meanings:"remind"and"warning".VP has the characteristic of"undesirable"and“low controllability”;the focus of"???VP"is on"?VP","??VP"is not as good as"???VP"in accordance with the principle of politeness,and the frequency of"???VP"`s use is not as high as"??VP".Most of the negative constructions studied in this paper have homomorphic and heterogeneous situations.The meanings of each negative construction and the positive form do not completely overlap,and the use frequency of each negative construction is not as high as the positive form,but it has a stronger emotional color.There are often ambiguities in surplus negative constructions.Pause and stress,combined with context,can be used to eliminate ambiguity.After studying the grammatical,semantic and pragmatic characteristics of each construction,this paper summarizes the teaching strategies.In terms of teaching principles,attention should be paid to distinguish between homomorphic and heterogeneous as well as combine pragmatics with functions and cultural backgrounds.At the same time,attention should be paid to precision,speaking and practicing.Teachers shall remind students of the importance of context,the stress and pauses in speech flow in order to eliminate ambiguity,so as focus on cultivating Chinese communicative ability.In terms of teaching methods,the combination of cognitive,audiovisual and listening and speaking teaching methods,situational teaching method and comparative teaching method are more suitable for the teaching of surplus negation structures.
