Research On Neolithic Cultural Remains In Northwest Hebei

The northwestern Heibei region is located at the northern end of North China Plain.It is the junction area and transportation hub of Central Plains culture,Liaoxi culture and Hetao culture.It is also the junction area of two economic activities of farming and nomadic,which breeds and develops unique archaeological culture in the Neolithic age.According to the differences of terrain,landform and cultural features,the northwestern Hebei region can be divided in to three geographical regions from south to north,the piedmont area,the basin area,and the plateau area.Through a comprehensive analysis of the shape of utensils,cultural factors,and stratigraphic relationships of the typical settlement-related sites in the above regions,the chronological sequence of the site materials in each district was initially established,and finally the three area was divided into 8,9,and 2 different cultural relics or types respectively.Then taking space as the abscissa and time as the ordinate,the four major stages of the Neolithic Age were sorted out,established the temporal and spatial framework of the Neolithic remains in northwestern Hebei,and the cultural interaction pattern of the four major stages was discussed.Finally,it discusses the related issues of settlement patterns and settlement economy,and then summarizes the phased characteristics of the Neolithic settlements and economic development in the area.Generally speaking,as a cultural junction area,the northwestern Hebei has an earlier and independent cultural origin.Since the second stage,it has been directly or indirectly affected by the surrounding Liaoxi,Haidai,Central Plains and northern grassland cultures.In order to localize foreign cultures,or form an independent archeological culture.The Neolithic cultural evolution in north western Hebei is complex and diverse,and there are also imbalances among the three regions.The changes in the natural geographical environment have promoted the development of old cultures and the introduction of new cultures in the region,and completed the localization of foreign cultures in the region.With the changes in the climate environment,people will also develop a kind of“Adaptation strategy” changes,climate warming,people migrate to areas with good hydrothermal conditions,develop agriculture and supplement them with hunting-gathering,and when the climate is dry and cold,people then turn to hunting-gathering.This different way of livelihood also promotes In addition to the changes and exchanges between regional cultures,the diversified mixed economy affects the progress and development of social forms and spiritual culture.The complexity,diversification and imbalance of this culture in Northwest Hebei also prevented the entire region from forming its own independent development system in the Neolithic Age.This reflects the dynamic process of mutual influence and mutual accommodation in the cultural boundary zone,and also represents This has contributed to the expansion of cultural exchanges between social groups of different cultural traditions.
