Research On Social Work Intervention In The Improvement Of Self-help Ability Of Rural Destitute Elderly From The Perspective Of Advantage

At present,the process of population aging in China is gradually accelerating and deepening.In contrast,the aging and empty-nesting in rural areas are more serious.Rural pension has become a very prominent social problem.As a disadvantaged group at the bottom of society,the stereotype of rural elderly in extreme poverty is that they have poor economic ability,action ability and independence,and lack of spiritual entertainment life,so it is difficult for them to achieve sustainable development by themselves.According to the theory of Strength Perspective,any individual or group has potential and advantages,so it is encouraged to tap its own ability and external resources to empower itself.As a kind of professional helping activities,the core idea of social work is "help people to help themselves"."Helping others" is the surface goal of social work,while "people help themselves",to help the client develop self-help ability,is the deep goal of social work.Therefore,whether social work can play a unique role in mining and improving the self-help ability of rural elderly people in extreme poverty from the Strength Perspective,so that they can realize "self-help",so as to provide a new solution to the rural pension problem,is a major test of the ability and effectiveness of social work.The author through the practice in the "Shuangbai" social work station to carry out service activities for rural extremely poor old man,understand the basic information of the local and establish professional relationships with clients.After visiting and researching to understand the current situation and demand of service objects from the state of the economy,life care,health care,emotional care and spiritual comfort aspects,I assess their self-help capabilities and analyze problems,then it is found that the local rural elderly in extreme poverty have certain economic self-help,life self-help,cultural and recreational self-help and other abilities.Then,guided by the Strength Perspective,the integral self-help platform provide for the aged are built,and professional social work methods such as case work,group work and community work are used to carry out systematic services,so as to achieve the goal of improving the self-help ability of the elderly in extreme poverty in Zhusuo Village.Finally,by summarizing the achievements and problems in the practice process,it verifies the necessity and feasibility of social work intervene in the self-help improvement of rural elderly in extreme poverty from the Strength Perspective,and draws conclusions and reflections of the research.The practical research carried out in this paper not only provides professional services for the elderly in extreme poverty in Zhusuo Village,but also enables them to realize self-growth by improving their self-help ability.It also helps to break the inherent prejudice of the current society against the elderly in extreme poverty in rural areas,and promotes the transformation of academic research from the "Problem Perspective" to the "Strength Perspective".It plays a positive role in exploring new ways to promote the development of Gerontological Social Work for the elderly in China,and also has a certain reference value for how to improve the rural old-age service system in underdeveloped areas of China.
