A Group Work Intervention Study On The Enhancement Of Willingness To Volunteer Among The Elderly

With the declining birth rate and the increasing number of the elderly population,China is expected to enter a population ageing period during the 14 th five-year plan period.The Fifth Plenary Session of the 19 th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China(CPC)proposed "to implement the national strategy of actively responding to the population ageing," indicating that the country has put population ageing on the national strategic level,the issue of ageing has become one of the greatest concerns and realities,and active ageing as a policy framework for responding to ageing can help to alleviate the pressures and challenges posed by ageing,help to meet the developmental needs of the elderly.Elderly volunteers have become a force that can not be ignored to promote social development.However,the elderly lack of self-identity,lower capacity of voluntary service,voluntary service will not be strong and so on hinder the pace of the elderly to participate in voluntary activities.How to increase the willingness of the elderly to volunteer,help the elderly to continue socialization,promote community participation,and promote active aging has become a very important issue.This paper takes the willingness of voluntary service of the elderly over 60 years old in Chengdu x community as the research object,through questionnaires and interviews with the elderly in the community,we found the willingness and problems of the elderly in the community in voluntary service activities,and combined with the needs of the community and the elderly,using the method of group work,the purpose of this paper is to enhance the willingness of the elderly to volunteer in the x community,so as to promote the participation of the elderly in the community and ultimately contribute to active aging.After conducting 6 team activities and 7 interviews with team members,we can see that the intervention of the team's work has achieved obvious results and the goals of the team have been basically achieved.The elderly in this community see their own resources and advantages,self-identity can be enhanced.To stimulate the motivation to participate in voluntary activities,this group work can provide experience for the group work to improve the willingness of volunteer service for the elderly in the community,and can also provide reference for the group work to intervene in the community.
