High quality illustrations can add vitality to the textbook and make the class more interesting."Biology curriculum standards for general senior high school(2017 edition)" also mentioned that textbook compilation should be illustrated with pictures and texts.With the reform of the curriculum,domestic textbooks have paid more and more attention to the quality of illustrations.In addition,studies have shown that:Teaching with illustrations is conducive to cultivating students' various image skills and improving their core literacy in biology.However,at present,most researches on textbook illustrations at home and abroad focus on the classification,function and application of illustrations in various disciplines,but the actual effect is different from the expected one.Therefore,this research has conducted related research on this issue.Based on dual coding theory and brain science theory,it mainly adopts the methods of literature,investigation,observation and record,experimental research and case study to study illustration teaching strategies and its application effects.Firstly,literature review was conducted to understand the current situation of illustration teaching,summarize the teaching strategies of illustration.After questionnaire and scale survey,it was found that:Students are interested in biological images,but they are difficult to read.In addition,after a period of classroom behavior observation,it is found that some teachers lack of students' training in reading pictures.Based on this,the author optimized the illustration teaching strategy,and applied the optimization strategy to the actual teaching to test its effectiveness.The study is as follows:(1)The main problems in illustration teaching include:Although teachers all attach importance to illustration,some teachers only use illustrations,and lack of conscious guidance and systematic training on students' reading skills.In addition,the form of illustration teaching is relatively single.(2)The following principles should be followed in the teaching of high school biology illustrations:the principle of pertinence;the principle of order;the principle of fun;the principle of effectiveness;the principle of ability development.(3)The optimization strategies of high school biology illustration teaching include:the selection and optimization of illustrations in human-teaching textbooks;the optimization of high school biology image recognition strategies;the optimization of high school biology image reading strategies.Through one-semester illustration teaching practice,it was finally found that the motivation and interest of biological learning in the experimental class students have improved significantly;the skills of picture recognition and reading have also improved;However,the student's image question scores were not significantly different from the control class.Analysis of the test papers found that although the illustration teaching did not change the student's image question scores,it promoted the students' understanding of concepts and mastery of knowledge.It can be seen that the illustration teaching optimization strategy proposed in this study has practical value in high school biology teaching and has a certain positive effect on improving the quality of teaching.In addition,in order to make better use of illustrations,the author believes that teachers should permeate the consciousness of reading pictures in teaching.Strengthening the connection between illustrations and text;Break the rules and use illustrations;Strengthen mutual aid between students and highlight the main body of students.
