Objective:Health-related physical fitness is strongly associated with health, which includes body composition, cardiorespiratory fitness, muscle strength, muscle endurance, body flexon and banlance. This study investigated blood pressure,health-related physical fitness and lifestyles(physical activity, pressure, quality of sleep)among college teaching and administrative staff aged 25?59 years, and aimed at providing reference data for the exercise prescription to prevent hypertension through researching the characteristics of health-related physical fitness changes by age and finding the key elements of health-related physical fitness that affect hypertension. Methods:College teaching and administrative staff aged 25?59 years were collected willingly in Shaanxi Normal University incluidng 246 males and 292 females in a designated hospital where they performed medical examinations, questionnaire filling, and health-related physical fitness test.College teaching and administrative staff aged 25?59 years were collected willingly in Shaanxi Normal University incluidng 246 males and 292 females in a designated hospital where they performed medical examinations, questionnaire filling, and health-related physical fitness test.Medical examinations include regular physical examination items such as blood pressure;?International Physical Activity Questionnaire?,?Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index?and?Chinese 14-item Perceived Stress Scale?were used to evaluate the levels of physical activity, and pressure index and stress.Health-related fitness indexes included:body mass index, percentage 0.316,P<0.01.The score of out of control and pressure was negatively correlated with handgrip strength, and the correlation coefficients were-0.193,-0.158,P<0.01;sleep quality was negatively correlated with handgrip strength, and the correlation coefficient was-0.133,P<0.05;?Moderate physical activity was positively correlated with handgrip strength, the correlation coefficient was 0.165,P<0.01,with sit-ups,and vertical jump, with a correlation coefficient between-0.181 and-0.152,P<0.01.(4)Multiple linear regression analysis showed that:?Gender, age,BMI,the Index of Harvard Step Experiment had a linear relationship with systolic blood pressure, and the regression model has statistical significance,F=23.527,P<0.001,adjusted R2=0.316.For every 10-year increase in age,the body's systolic blood pressure increases by 4.06 mmHg;For each additional unit of BMI,the systolic blood pressure increases by 0.77 mmHg,and for every 10 units of the Index of Harvard Step Experiment increase, systolic blood pressure decreases by 2.02 mmHg;? It also showed a linear relationship existed between gender, age,BMI,the Index of Harvard Step Experiment, vertical jump, one leg standing with eyes closed and diastolic blood pressure. The regression model was statistically significant,F=23.358,P<0.001,adjusted R2=0.294,and the diastolic blood pressure increased 2.56 mmHg with each 10-year increase in age,for each additional unit of BMI,systolic blood pressure increases by 0.926 mmHg;For every 10 units of the Index of Harvard Step Experiment increase, systolic blood pressure decreases by 2.45 mmHg;For every 10cm increase in vertical jump, diastolic blood pressure decreases by 1.11 mmHg;One leg standing with eyes closed increased for 10 seconds, diastolic blood pressure decreased by 0.32 mmHg.(5)Binary logistic regression analysis showed that:gender,age,BMI,waist,Z-score of the Index of Harvard Step Experiment can effectively predict the risk of hypertension,P<0.05,and 89.2%of the subjects could be classified, with a sensitivity of 21.7%and a specificity of 99.1%.Female are 4.196 times more likely to suffer from hypertension than men;every 1 year of age increases the risk of hypertension by 6.9%;each additional unit of BMI increases the risk of hypertension by 21.2%;One unit of Z-score of the Index of Harvard Step Experiment increased, the the prevalence of hypertension reduced by 30.2%.Conclusions:(1)Among male or female college teaching and administrative staffin the age range of 25?59 years, cardiopulmonary fitness level increased with age, while muscle endurance decreases with age,and muscle endurance was positively correlatedwith cardiopulmonary fitness, balance and flexibility.(2)The muscle strength increased with BMI and waist circumference in male and female college teaching and administrative staff at the age of 25?29 years,on the contrary, the muscular endurance decreased with the increase of WHR and PBF.For female college teaching and administrative staff, waist circumference was the main factors that affectedtheir muscular endurance, balance and flexibility.(3)Moderate and severe physical activity promoted cardiopulmonary fitness, muscle strength, muscle endurance, and balance of thecollege teaching and administrative staff.(4)Tension and stress levels were negatively related to blood pressure, and health-related physical fitness indicators were related to blood pressureexcept for muscle endurance;BMI,waist circumference, and step test index could predict hypertension in college teaching and administrative staff. And the exercise guidelines for hypertensive patients need to be based on reducing BMI and waist circumference, and improving cardiopulmonary fitness,as well as taking age and gender into account.
