The geography curriculum standard for general high school(2017 edition)puts forward the requirements for all-round development of students,lifelong learning ability,self-development ability and communication and cooperation ability.In the practical teaching of physical geography in senior high schools,most classes are mainly taught by teachers.Such teaching methods are not only disadvantageous to the personal development of teachers,but also can not meet the needs of students’ all-round development,it is not conducive to the cultivation of students’ lifelong learning ability,so it is necessary to change the teaching method.The core of learning pyramid theory is that the teaching should pay attention to students’ initiative,participation and cooperation,which is in line with the requirements of the new curriculum,to promote the personal development of teachers,but also to optimize the way of learning students,improve learning efficiency,and ultimately improve the teaching effect.Therefore,it is of great significance to apply the learning pyramid theory to the teaching of physical geography.First of all,through the literature analysis method to consult the learning pyramid theory,physical geography teaching,knowledge classification theory and other related literature and data collation and collection;Secondly,we investigate the present situation of teachers’ teaching and students’ learning through questionnaire survey,and then according to the theory of knowledge classification,the knowledge of physical geography is classified according to geographical concepts,geographical features,geographical laws and geographical causes,according to the results of the survey,the application strategies of learning pyramid theory in different types of knowledge and in the three teaching links of pre-class,mid-class and post-class are put forward;Finally,through the action research method and data analysis to test the effectiveness of learning pyramid theory application strategy.The results show that the application of learning pyramid theory to the teaching of physical geography plays an important role in improving the learning effect of students.The results of the students with poor foundation have been improved significantly,and the resultsof the students with better foundation have been broken through.In general,the application of learning pyramid theory to the teaching of physical geography has a good effect.
