Group reading can expand students' reading capacity,meet students' reading demand,improve students' reading ability and thinking ability,and also improve teachers' reading teaching ability.It is not only an efficient teaching method to meet the requirements of reading teaching under the new curriculum standard,but also one of the mainstream reading teaching methods.But in the existing research,the junior high school language group text reading teaching research is far less than the primary school language group text reading teaching research.The junior middle school language group text reading teaching research is even insufficient.Although the pace of mass text reading teaching in western Guangdong may lag slightly behind that in developed areas due to economic and other differences.With the popularization of electronic products,students' reading resources are becoming more and more extensive.This also provides an important material prerequisite for the implementation of language group text reading teaching in western Guangdong.On the basis of studying the previous literature,this paper makes an investigation and studies on the present situation of Chinese group reading teaching in junior middle schools in western Guangdong by using the methods of questionnaire survey,case analysis,etc.According to the characteristics of the group text reading teaching and the analysis of the present situation of the group text reading teaching in junior middle school in the west of Guangdong Province,the corresponding countermeasures are put forward.The study finds that teachers in the region still need to improve their ability in teaching group reading.In addition,under the influence of examination-oriented education,students' interest in reading is not high in the teacher-led teaching model,and most of them are at the request of teachers or parents.The main purpose of reading is to master test-taking skills,so students' subjective status is not reflected.According to this situation,this paper gives the corresponding strategies for the topic and selection of group text reading,the strategies for teaching andexpanding the reading resources,and the corresponding suggestions for the teaching ability of the teachers.This paper is divided into four parts.The introduction includes the reason of the topic selection,the literature review,the purpose and significance of the research,the research ideas and methods and the definition of the core concepts related to the teaching of group text reading.In the first chapter,the author makes an investigation and analyzes of the current situation and causes of the teaching of the reading of Chinese group texts in junior middle schools in western Guangdong Province.The third chapter is to help junior middle school Chinese teachers in western Guangdong to better understand the teaching of group text reading and to develop the teaching of group text reading by analyzing the case of group text reading teaching in Xuwen County.The case study finds that the teaching of group text reading has changed the previous teacher-led teaching model in Western Guangdong.To a certain extent,teachers return the class to students,and it also alleviates the contradiction between the teaching of reading in group writing and the teaching of taking an examination.
