Study travel is a new measure put forward by the ministry of education in the basic education reform with 11 ministries and commissions.Geography has clear requirements to cultivate geography practical literacy,can combine study travel with geography practice.This study attempts to combine study travel with geography,has positive theoretical and practical significance to the implementation of the study travel and the research on study travel carried by subjects.This study firstly investigates the activities of carrying out study travels in middle schools to confirm the active participation of geography in study travels.In combination with professor Wang Min's division of the connotation of geography practical literacy,this study constructs an evaluation index system of the implementation of geography practical literacy in study travel plans,so as to evaluate the implementation of geography practical literacy in study travels.Taking two study travel plans as examples,this study analyzes the implementation of geography practical literacy and the existing problems in current implementation process of study travel activities.Finally,a test is designed to measure the effect of students participating in the study travel activities,and the following conclusions are drawn.(1)According to the questionnaire data,the development of study travel in Guangdong Province is in its infancy,about 42% of schools have taken study travels.About 51% of schools' geography subject that have conducted research trips have hosted or participated in research trips.In addition,among the schools that have carried out research trips,public schools are more active in carrying out study travels than private schools.(2)This paper constructs a two-level evaluation index system of the implementation of geography practical literacy in study travel plans,and the first-level evaluation index is “the degree of observation”,“the degree of using tools” and “the degree of learning from reflection and experience”.The secondary evaluation index is derived from the specific requirements and behavior description of geography practical literacy in the geography curriculum standard.(3)The evaluation index system is used to evaluate two common kinds of study travel plans.The evaluation results show that observing geographical landscape,investigating geographical process and phenomenon as well as using maps are taken seriously through study travel process.However,the actual project design is not perfect,and there are some problems,such as neglecting other geographical tools expect maps,lacking in the provision of geographic data and the reflection as well as summary.Among the materials provided by the study travel plans,those directly related to geographical practice are still lacking.(4)In view of the problem of feedback in students' testing,this study puts forward that in the process of carrying out study travels,schools should do well in the organization,teachers should do well in the detailed design and students should be active learners.
