| Universiade,FISU flagship event,is the world's largest and most prestigious sport event of the International University Sports Federation,which is held every two years and its influence has been steadily increasing all over the world.The sports event and student-athletes are being developing a positive and constructive relationship with each other,making more achievements.The sports event will bring the host city more hope to make greater progress by winning tomorrow's leaders' good feelings and sweet memories.Through literature review,field trip,expert interview,case study and logic analysis,this paper studies the influence of the Universiade on Chengdu urban development from the following five aspects: economy,culture,city environment,school PE and community sports.The research work aims to prove the value of hosting the Universiade,set an example for other cities which may host such sports events to follow and provide government policy-makers with some suggestions.The research result show:1.The 2021 Univesiade will stimulate and promote investment,consumption and the development of tourism as well.2.The 2021 Universiade will enhance intercultural communication and enrich Chengdu local culture.3.The 2021 Universiade will benefit the city environment with higher green rate,better air and water pollution control;but at the same time there exist some disturbances and even potential safety problems caused by infrastructure and engineering construction.4.The 2021 Universiade will improve campus sports facilities,facilitate academic exchange and cultivate more excellence in mind and body.5.The 2021 Universiade will increase sports population,sports activities and improve community sports facilities.The research suggests that in the preparation of the 2021 Universiade economical and environmental development should be balanced,the Tianfu culture be spread to the world through more means and channels;In the preparation of the Universiade school PE and community sports should be substantially elevated;The other cities facing the bottleneck in their development can achieve transition with the help of the influence on urban development by hosting sports events,ensuring sustainable development.The deficiency of the research lies in that the sports event hasn't been staged,and the whole preparation process will last three years.Some viewpoints based on prediction will not be tested until the sports event takes place.Therefore,more study will be followed up after the event so as to further prove the value of hosting the Universiade. |
