Since mini-basketball was promoted by the Chinese Basketball Association in 2017,it has been exerting profound influence on students aged 6-12.It is not only a foundation project for the development of China's basketball,but also a sports carrier or media which plays a comprehensive educational function,and plays a role in promoting the deeply reform for primary school sports.In this new era,our socialist modernization successors inspired by the mission in the training of moral,intellectual,physical,aesthetic labor all-round development,it is necessary for us to study the educational function of mini-basketball systematically.Based on these necessities,this study adopts the methods of literature review,expert interview,questionnaire survey etc.The study takes the educational function of mini-basketball as the starting point,deeply analyzes the educational value of it,discussing the path about how its function can be realized.There are the conclusions following through the research:1.Mini-basketball is having an impact on the large number of children(students)between the ages of 6-12 who participate in it,so it is not simply seen as a physical sport,but as a means of education.2.Mini-basketball has the functions of strengthening body,cultivating morality,increasing intelligence,accumulating beauty and promoting labor.Among them,the function of strengthening body is the ontology,and other four parts have different emphases and manifestations in different age groups.Cultivating morality is mainly reflected in game rules in the development of mini-basketball games,teamwork,dedication,trust and other traits in training;Increasing intelligence is mainly embodied in enhancing brain function,improve observation,judgment and decision making;Accumulating beauty is mainly incarnated in motion of playing mini-basketball and its beauties in health,physique and mentality and other elements;Promoting labor is mainly reflected in the role positioning,task division,mental and physical efforts in the process of training and competing of mini-basketball.3.The main obstacles to realize the educational function of mini-basketball are: the main body of teaching mini-basketball has insufficient understanding of the five educational functions;Carriers such as curriculum plan,training plan and competition platform in teaching and training lack space or opportunity to fully realize the five educational functions.The specific implementation process has not been fully implemented;Students have a problem of selective acceptances or rejections.4.Stick to strengthening body function and give consideration to other four functions;Improve the teacher's understanding of teaching philosophy;The teaching carriers provide paths for realizing the function;Fully implement the function of educating people in teaching processes is the necessary approaches of realizing five educational functions conception.
