Reciprocal teaching is the third teaching method in Mosston's spectrum teaching theory. Its essence is: in the teaching process, learners pair learning actions with peers in accordance with the standards provided by teachers, give peers immediate feedback, and develop communication feedback and Socialization skills. The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of reciprocal teaching and traditional teaching methods on the effect of volleyball teaching in college public physical education courses. The study adopted a quasi-experimental design.A total of 88 students from two classes studying public sports volleyball courses at Chengdu University of Technology were studied.Class A(33 boys and 13 girls)used a reciprocal teaching method.Class B(29 boys)(13 girls),using traditional teaching methods, testing the learners' physical fitness, volleyball skills, and interest in learning before the experiment, proving that there was no significant difference in the learning situation between the two classes before the experiment. The learning of cushion, pass, serve, and spike was tested. The measured data were compared using independent sample T-tests to determine whether there was a difference in teaching effect between the two teaching methods.Paired sample T-tests were used to compare the gaps before and after the experiment.A study satisfaction questionnaire was issued at the end of the period to investigate the students' learning situation(? =0.05).The results show that with the progress of teaching, both teaching methods can significantly improve learners' volleyball skills;in each technical test, the score of Class A after the experiment is significantly better than that of Class B.In the study satisfaction questionnaire survey,Class A had a more satisfactory evaluation in terms of teaching atmosphere and peer relationship than Class B.The conclusions of the study are as follows:1.Both teaching methods can effectively improve the level of volleyball skills.2.Reciprocal teaching can bring more information feedback and clearer practice goals in the early stage of action learning, which helps learners master technical movements.Although reciprocal teaching inevitably reduces the time of action exercises, learning The person has a deeper understanding of movements and exercises more efficiently.3.Reciprocal teaching increases the interaction between peers and makes the classroom atmosphere more active. However,an overly active classroom atmosphere may affect the learning of actions.
