"General High School Chemistry Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)" puts forward to take the core literacy of chemistry as the cultivation goal of students.The core literacy of the chemistry discipline contains five aspects,in which the forth literacy is "scientific inquiry and innovation awareness".In the field of chemistry,experimental teaching can not only explore the essence of materials,but also assume the function of the people's education.Therefore,it is helpful of experimental teaching to cultivate students' scientific inquiry and innovation awareness.This paper defines concepts of scientific inquiry and innovation awareness on the basis of a review of relevant literature works on chemistry experimental teaching and scientific inquiry and innovation awareness at home and abroad.It takes cognitive and discovery learning theory,constructivism learning theory and humanistic theory as the basis of the paper,carries out a survey on the situation of scientific inquiry and innovation awareness in the class 5 and class 6 of the first grade in senior high school,which are parallel classes.The results show that students already have the ability to conduct preliminary scientific inquiry,but their innovation awareness and innovation ability are insufficient,which needs further cultivation.Based on the survey results,the author draws up teaching strategies for cultivating students' ability to ask questions,guess and hypothesize,design and implement experiments,collect information and evidence,express and communicate,and innovate.On this basis,the author chooses the experimental class and the control class to carry out a 4-month teaching practice.Class 5 is an experimental class,and the experimental teaching is carried out by using the constructed teaching strategy,Class 6 is a control class and using the traditional experimental teaching method.At the end of the teaching practice,the author conducts a survey on the students' awareness of scientific inquiry and innovation in the two classes again,and takes the survey results as post-testing,and makes a comparative analysis of the pre-testing and post-testing as well as the final scores of the two classes,so as to verify the effectiveness of the proposed teaching strategies.The study found that the teaching strategies adopted in the experimental teaching accords with the cognitive characteristics of senior high school students,which can stimulate students' interest in learning chemistry,guide students to actively carry out inquiry experiments,and continuously innovate and develop themselves in inquiry.At the same time,their literacy of scientific inquiry and innovation awareness have been cultivated,and their chemistry performance has also improved.
