Research On The Role Distance Of Community Social Workers

With the acceleration of the modernization process,profound changes have taken place in the social structure.The community has become the main focus of social development and the main platform for social workers to provide services.Accelerating the advancement of community social work services is of great significance to the promotion of solving social problems and maintaining social stability.Community social workers provide professional services in the community,and different roles are expected to require them to carry out corresponding role practice,which puts higher and higher requirements on the professional qualities of community social workers.In the practical work of social workers,due to various factors,community social workers cannot achieve the role expectations,resulting in a certain role distance.This study uses qualitative research to compare and analyze the distance between role expectation and role practice of community social workers.By in-depth interviews with six community social workers in Zhengzhou EX Social Work Service Center,as well as four community workers,three community residents and three social worker supervisors,the author understands the specific experience and experience of community social workers in role practice from different subject dimensions,and obtains first-hand information through interviews,so as to explore the concrete performance of community social worker role distance.The conclusion shows that the role practice of community social workers is due to subjective factors such as inadequate professional literacy,low professional recognition,and lack of self-learning awareness,as well as inadequate education and training in colleges and universities,lack of social work agency responsibilities,incomplete acceptance of the community,and objective factors such as low level of recognition have caused community social workers' role practice to fail to meet their role expectations,resulting in a certain degree of role distance.Therefore,the author attempts to putforward countermeasures to alleviate the role distance of community social workers from five perspectives of the government,universities,social work organizations,communities,and social workers themselves: the government improves the relevant policies of community social work;colleges and universities focus on cultivating the practical ability of social work professionals;social work organizations improve the training and management of social workers;improve community recognition and support for social workers;community social workers improve their professional qualities,etc.This article aims to study the role distance of community social workers and provide reference materials for the professional development of community social work.
