| Marriage relationship is a new topic derived from the development of human society.The progress of a country cannot be separated from the joint efforts of tens of millions of families.In recent years,China's divorce rate continues to rise,the fertility rate gradually declines,and the unsatisfactory marriage relationship affects the value of human capital production,indirectly hindering social progress and economic growth.The study of the related factors that affect the marital stability and the satisfaction can provide a new perspective for population economics,and can also provide effective suggestions for civil affairs departments and marriage families,so as to enhance the overall happiness of the people and bring higher quality economic development.In the study of family economics,cost-benefit analysis is generally adopted to analyze the marriage.The greater marriage benefits brings a higher marriage satisfaction.When the cost of a marriage is greater than the benefit,the subject of marriage will face the risk of marriage breakdown.Children,as indivisible human assets derived from a family economy,will have a dual impact on the costs and benefits of marriage,which will not only affect the marriage subject's choice of whether to continue the marriage by raising the cost of divorce,but also affect the marriage quality during the marriage's duration.It is of theoretical value and practical guiding significance to study the influence mechanism of children on marriage relationship.The data is from the Chinese academy of social sciences of Peking University research center project,with official CFPS data as support,take every family questionnaire as unit data,take the marriage of cost and revenue as a breakthrough point,using Probit regression model,a preliminary explore children's influence on the stability of marriage and marital satisfaction.From the perspective of influence mechanism,children affect marriage satisfaction and stability mainly by three ways which is the number of children,the relationship between children and their parents,and the return of children to their parents.Through the interpretation and analysis of the empirical results,the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)the number of children significantly affects the marital stability;(2)parent-child relationship significantly affects marital stability;(3)children's earnings are significantly correlated with marriage satisfaction.The main innovations of this paper are as follows:(1)Adopt a new perspective and start from children to study the mechanism of children's influence on parents' marriage relationship,which is a supplement to the existing marriage economics to study issues from the perspective of husband and wife,and can provide a new direction for improving the quality of marriage in China;(2)In the empirical analysis of children's relationship with their parents' marriage,it focuses on solving endogeneity problems neglected by previous models;(3)In the robustness analysis,multiple measurement methods are adopted to test the robustness of the results.Logistic model was used to test the impact of children on marriage stability.For the impact of children's income on marriage satisfaction,an ordered Probit regression model was used for verification and analysis... |
