The promulgation of “General High School Geography Curriculum Standards(2017Edition)”(hereinafter referred to as the “New Curriculum Standard”)is an important measure for the reform of high school geography curriculum. The new curriculum standard suggests to actively create conditions, create an intuitive teaching environment, and strengthen students' spatial thinking training in a geographical context.Geography self-made teaching aids are a relatively common auxiliary tool in geography teaching, which can visually present abstract geographic phenomena or geographic laws to students to the greatest extent, and play an important role in cultivating students' geospatial thinking ability. However, there are few researches on self-made geographic teaching aids and the cultivation of students' geospatial thinking ability. Therefore, this research is based on combing the relationship between self-made teaching aids and the cultivation of students' geospatial thinking ability.Through investigation and interview,we can grasp the current situation of the use of self-made teaching aids and the present situation of students' geospatial thinking.Aiming at the existing problems,we proposed strategies for cultivating students' spatial thinking,in order to provide new teaching ideas and new methods for frontline teachers. The main research contents and conclusions of this article are as follows:(1)Based on the analysis of the necessity of developing students' geospatial thinking with self-made teaching aids. This article analyzes its necessity from four aspects: curriculum standards, textbook analysis, analysis of students' situation, and the advantages of self-made geographic teaching aids and other geographic teaching aids. The textbook analysis part sorts out the compulsory first book and optional compulsory one or two books of the People's Education Edition, which can be taught based on the self-made teaching aids of geography and the focus that can cultivate students' geospatial thinking.(2)Based on the analysis of the current situation of cultivating students' geospatial thinking with self-made teaching aids. This article uses questionnaire survey method, interview method and statistical analysis method to analyze the current situation of the use of self-made geographic teaching aids and students' geospatial thinking. The survey results show that the students' geospatial thinking ability is not very good, there is a lot of room for improvement;teachers rarely use geography self-made teaching aids for teaching, but students look forward to this teaching method.(3)The implementation and guarantee of self-made teaching aids to cultivate students' geospatial thinking. This article elaborates in detail from three perspectives: pre-class preparation, classroom teaching, and guarantee strategies.Pre-class preparation is divided into six parts: topic selection, conception and design, material preparation, production and debugging, writing instructions and student production.Classroom implementation is divided into three parts: introduction of new lessons, classroom lectures, and homework. In the classroom teaching part, based on the self-made teaching aids of geography, the situation is created to realize the transformation from plane to three-dimensional,static to dynamic and macro-to-micro transformation.Reasonable and clear questions are set to guide students to explore the self-made teaching aids, and the teacher summarizes the knowledge.Based on the analysis of the teaching case design of self-made teaching aids to cultivate students' geospatial thinking. This article selects the optional compulsory one,the second section “The Geographical Significance of Earth's Rotation” as a complete teaching design based on self-made teaching aids to cultivate students' geospatial thinking.
