The Influence Of Stressors On Doctoral Research Performance

The research performance of doctoral students is an important reflection of their innovation ability.Stressors is an inevitable factor in the process of doctoral research.Scholars have studied the influence of doctoral students' individual,school and supervisor on the research performance,and how the stressors of doctoral students(challenge stressors and hinderance stressors)affect the research performance still needs further study.This paper focuses on the mechanism of the influence of challenge stressors and hinderance stressors on the research performance of doctoral students and the moderating effect of the supervisors' abusive guidance style.Based on conservation of resource theory,this paper constructed the theory model which contains stressors(challenge stressors and hinderance stressors),supervisors' abusive guidance style and research performance of the doctoral students to further study how stressors affect doctoral research performance.At the same time,the supervisors' abusive guidance style was incorporated into the research on stressors and scientific research performance,and the influence mechanism of its regulating effect was studied.In this study,567 doctoral sample data were used for empirical test by hierarchical regression model.The direct effects of challenge stressors and hinderance stressors on the research performance were tested.The data results showed that the challenge stressors had a significant positive effect on the research performance of doctoral students.Hinderance stressors have a significant negative effect on the research performance of doctoral students.The supervisors' abusive guidance style has a significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between challenge stressors and research performance,but has no significant effect on the relationship between hinderance stressors and research performance.This research conclusion is of practical significance to the cultivation of doctoral students.
