In January 2018,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council promulgated the "Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of Teaching Staff in the New Era".The policy emphasizes the need to comprehensively improve the quality of primary and secondary school teachers, build a team of high-quality and professional teachers, and promote the supply-side structural reform of teacher training. At present, the ratio of male and female teachers in the country has shown a serious imbalance, and there is an imbalance in regional development. The imbalance of the gender structure of primary school teachers has varying degrees of impact on the overall growth of students, the healthy and stable development of the teaching team, and the scientific development of education.Studying the status quo and causes of the feminization of the gender structure of primary school teachers has important theoretical and practical significance for promoting the balanced development of the teaching team. This study combed the concepts and theories related to the gender structure of teachers, and compiled a questionnaire on the feminization of the gender structure of primary school teachers and its influencing factors based on relevant theoretical tools. This research focuses on the primary education stage where the gender imbalance of teachers is the most serious.Through the questionnaire survey method,it presents the basic situation of the gender structure of the teachers in 10 urban and rural primary schools in H Province, and understands the influence of the feminization of the gender structure of teachers on students through observation methods. On the basis of the existing data, through interviews,we will deeply explore the reasons for the feminization of the gender structure of primary school teachers, and propose corresponding measures for how to improve the status quo.The survey results show that the gender structure of teachers in 10 elementary schools in H Province is highly feminized. The specific manifestations are: the employment rate of female elementary school teachers remains high, and there are significant regional differences;the profession of elementary school teachers is not attractive to outstanding men;new teachers show a trend of "more women than men";the gender structure of teachers shows a trend of "women advance and men retreat".In order to explore what problems the feminization of the gender structure of teachers will bring, this study also conducted on-site visits to schools and observed that the feminization of the gender structure of teachers will have the following effects:affecting the overall growth of students and affecting the daily management of the school.Through interviews,we deeply analyze the deep-seated reasons for the feminization of the gender structure of primary school teachers. The main reasons are:long-term social and cultural shackles affect male and female career choices;primary school teachers' occupational characteristics cause occupational gender segregation;gender imbalance of normal university students affects the output of male teachers.Based on the analysis of the status quo of the feminization of the gender structure of primary school teachers and its causes, relevant improvement measures are proposed:First, strengthen the promotion of advanced gender culture and create a good working environment;Second, enhance the professional attractiveness of primary school teachers and provide for teacher development platform;Third, improve the existing teacher training mechanism to help the healthy development of primary school teachers.
