The modernization of education in rural areas affects the process of national education modernization,and teachers are one of the core elements that affect the quality of education.Therefore,it is urgent to develop junior high school education in rural areas and promote the balanced development of urban and rural education.The professional development of rural teachers is the premise of rural teaching development.However,further improving teachers' teaching competence is the key to building a high-quality rural junior high school teacher team.Therefore,it is particularly important to improve the teaching ability of rural junior high school teachers in the whole rural junior middle school education.In this article,taking the rural junior high school teachers in Guizhou Province as the research object,the questionnaire method is mainly used to study the teaching competency status of the teachers in this area,and the "Guizhou Rural Primary Middle School Teachers Teaching Competency Questionnaire" is compiled.The teaching competency in the questionnaire is divided into four dimensions: knowledge literacy,teaching ability,professional attitude and personal charm.The survey found that the teaching competence of rural junior high school teachers is generally at the upper-middle level.Moreover,the rural junior high school teachers of different gender,age,teaching age,professional title,and award status have obvious differences in all dimensions,that is,teachers with older,long teaching experience,and high professional titles have high teaching competence levels.In addition,the total scores of rural primary middle school teachers in the dimensions of knowledge literacy and professional attitude are lower than teaching ability and personal charm.The teaching competency level of junior high school teachers will be affected by teaching research,teaching values,literature reading,and teaching pressure.The more junior high school teachers participate in teaching research,the greater the amount of reading,the better the teaching values,and the stronger the teaching competence.However,the teaching pressure that most affects the teaching competence of teachers is too many chores.Aiming at the status quo and influencing factors of teachers' teaching competency in junior high school in Guizhou Province,the following suggestions are put forward on how to improve teachers' competency: improving teacher training methods,enriching reading forms,enhancing teachers' professional emotions,making teaching research routine,and alleviating teachers' pressure.
