With the development of the times,the society needs higher quality mathematics education in senior high schools,so it is necessary to reform the traditional mathematics teaching in senior high schools.As an important tool of mathematics education,textbooks should also adapt to the trend of the times,so the reform of high school mathematics textbooks is imminent.Among many versions of textbooks,version A of People's Education has the highest utilization rate,which naturally becomes the "vanguard" in the reform of high school mathematics textbooks.From the autumn of 2004 to the autumn of 2019,"Ordinary High School Experimental Textbook Mathematics(People's Education A Edition)" was officially put into use as the new people's education edition high school mathematics textbook.There is a gap of 15 years between the two editions of textbooks.What changes have taken place in the basis for newcomers to teach the A edition of textbooks? In which aspects has the new textbook changed? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the new textbook compared with the old textbook? All these are the issues to be discussed in this study.Therefore,this study selects the old and new versions of A version of People's Education textbooks for comparative study,hoping to provide reference for future mathematics teaching reform and teachers' teaching practice.Function is an important and difficult content in senior high school mathematics,which runs through the whole senior high school mathematics curriculum and plays an important role in the construction of students' mathematics knowledge system and the development of mathematics ability.In this study,the methods of literature research and questionnaire survey are adopted to study the function contents in the new and old versions of A version of PEP textbooks,including four aspects: comparison of compilation basis,comparison of content selection and structure,comparison of content presentation,and compilation characteristics of new textbooks.Combined with the research,the paper makes a questionnaire survey on teachers and students,and makes a further comparative study on the function content of the old and new textbooks.It is found that the new textbook can better reflect the essence of curriculum standards,and is conducive to developing students' core literacy in mathematics and individualized teaching for students;In the selection of function teaching content,the new teaching materials have been appropriately increased or decreased,which improves the flexibility of teaching and meets the requirements of the new curriculum standards;In the structure of function content,the function chapters are adjusted to emphasize logic,main line thinking and thematic processing;In the presentation of function content,the number of columns in the new textbook increases,the number of columns for thinking and inquiry increases,the applicability of the new textbook becomes stronger,and the difficulty of examples in the new textbook increases;In addition,the new textbooks pay more attention to the application of information technology,and emphasize the integration of mathematical culture and mathematical modeling into the textbooks.To sum up,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the teaching of the new mathematics textbook for senior high schools: based on the new curriculum standards,front-line teachers should thoroughly study the textbook,fully clarify the main logic lines in the textbook,make full use of various mathematical situations and examples,flexibly organize the teaching of function content,carry out hierarchical and personalized teaching for students,cultivate students' core literacy in mathematics,and infiltrate mathematical ideas and methods in teaching to promote the development of students' mathematical ability.
