With the acceleration of globalization,cultural diversity has become an important feature of British society,which leads to the contradiction between local and foreign,unity and diversity.People begin to think about how to cultivate the national identity ability of British citizens.At this time,the integration and cohesion of citizenship education in primary and secondary schools is concerned by the British government.After years of development,it has made great achievements in theory and practice.So,what's special about citizenship education in British primary and secondary schools in promoting national integration? What measures should be taken to achieve the universal recognition of national citizens? The research on these issues may provide some reference for the cohesion of national consensus on citizenship education in primary and secondary schools in China.The introduction of this paper mainly includes the reason and significance of the topic,literature review,concept definition and research methods.By combing the relevant literature on British civic education at home and abroad,this paper defines the core concepts of "national identity" and "civic education",and on this basis,carries out in-depth research on British civic education in primary and secondary schools from the perspective of national identity.The first chapter gives a brief overview of the evolution of citizenship education in British primary and secondary schools from the perspective of national identity,and divides it into four periods: the emergence of national identity,depression,crisis and remodeling.Combined with the internal factors such as politics,economy and society,as well as the external environment such as World War and international trend in each period,this paper makes a concrete analysis of its development.The second chapter elaborates the objectives and contents of citizenship education in British primary and secondary schools.Under the guidance of such educational objectives as "imparting knowledge of democratic politics,cultivating participation awareness and practical ability,establishing values of respecting diversity,and enhancing teenagers' sense of social responsibility",citizenship knowledge education,power and responsibility education,and values education have become important contents of national consensus,in order to cultivate citizens' strong identification with the country in three aspects of knowledge,skills,and emotion.The third chapter describes the guarantee and implementation of citizenship education in British primary and secondary schools.The policy support of government departments and the cooperation of social organizations are jointly committed to the cultivation of patriotic citizens,and the rich reserves of excellent teachers in schools also contribute to the germination of students' national identity consciousness.In the implementation of citizenship education in primary and secondary schools,systematic school curriculum as the main way to ensure the wide spread of national identity,practical activities as another way of implementation,through the active participation of young students,to cultivate citizen action and national responsibility.The fourth chapter is the integration analysis of citizenship education in British primary and secondary schools from the perspective of national identity.It summarizes the characteristics of "clear and specific educational objectives","rich and diverse educational content","effective cooperation of implementation means" and so on.At the same time,in view of the problems existing in the development of education in China,it draws lessons from the UK's "clear curriculum standards","value education focusing on Characteristics" and "education focusing on Characteristics" "Take a variety of ways to implement" and other excellent experience,which is beneficial to the cultivation of national identity ability of primary and secondary school students.
