In recent years,China's rapid economic growth,while China's air pollution problem is becoming increasingly prominent,the 19th National Congress report proposed to focus on solving outstanding environmental problems,to "win the blue sky defense war",to adopt reasonable and effective policies to improve air quality,is currently in a new stage of development in China can not avoid the key issues.In recent years,China is taking active measures to improve urban air quality,but the solution of environmental problems needs to be consistent,air quality issues still need to be attached great importance.Air pollution will endanger people's health,but also limit the development of the economy,resulting in a large number of human and material resources and financial losses.Innovation is the prerequisite guarantee of national development and national rejuvenation,the internal driving force of economic growth,and the important driver of cultivating competitive advantage and improving economic strength.Air pollution is likely to affect China's innovation level through the role of human capital and financial input,in the context of green development and innovation-driven,there is little research on how air pollution plays an impact on innovation efficiency,and it becomes more and more important to explore the intrinsic link between air pollution and innovation efficiency.From the perspective of air pollution,this paper measures the innovation level of the region by the innovation efficiency,analyzes the current situation of air quality in 30 provinces and cities in China,and evaluates the regional innovation efficiency statically and dynamically respectively.Based on provincial data,Tobit regression model is constructed to analyze the impact of air quality on regional innovation efficiency,and is further divided into eastern,central and western regions for regional analysis,while the reliability of the results is tested.The results show that:(1)In recent years,China's overall air quality has improved significantly,and the air quality in the western region is better than that in the eastern and central regions;China's overall total factor productivity increased by an average of 5%in 2018 compared with 2010,but the situation varies from province to province,indicating that the changes in China's total factor productivity vary from place to place,with significant regional differences;The innovation input of cities in the eastern part of China is well controlled,the management and technology have reached a better state,and the efficiency value of the provinces in the economically backward western regions has been at a low level,indicating that the problem of resource redundancy in these provinces needs to be solved.(3)On the whole,air quality has a significant positive impact on regional innovation efficiency,as does the level of economic development,government support,industrial structure,urbanization rate and infrastructure.(4)By region,air quality has a significant positive effect on regional innovation efficiency in the eastern region.In the central and western regions,the effect of air quality on regional innovation efficiency has not been effectively confirmed.Finally,in view of the above research results,this paper puts forward some effective suggestions to improve air quality and improve regional innovation efficiency.
