The 21 st century is the century from the era of knowledge economy to the era of innovation economy.The demand for talents has shifted from pure scientific and technological talents to the demand for innovative talents with humanistic qualities.The needs of social development in the new era require the injection of fresh blood.Design thinking,as a method to solve innovative problems and cultivate innovative talents,has attracted widespread attention in the education field,but there has been no good curriculum support for the cultivation of design thinking.At present,STEAM education is under "hot" development,and all major primary and secondary schools in China are exploring STEAM education.However,according to literature research,it is found that the current exploration of STEAM education in practice is "difficult",and the different learning modes based on "real application scenarios" provided by STEAM education have basically failed to be realized in practice.In view of the above situation,this research adopts the literature research method to analyze the current research status of STEAM education and design thinking at home and abroad,clarify the connotation and characteristics of STAEM education and design thinking,and compare and analyze the elements of design thinking model and STEAM teaching model.Based on the research and understanding of design thinking and STEAM education,the feasibility of STEAM education for design thinking training is analyzed from three aspects: teaching goals,teaching methods,and evaluation methods.Integrating design thinking and the characteristics and model characteristics of STEAM education,the author proposes six principles to guide the construction of teaching models,namely,the mastery of interdisciplinary knowledge as the basis,the cultivation of students' design thinking as the goal,and the "dual master" model of teachers and students.It is the principle of teaching design that takes the study of problem solving as the method,the form of group cooperative inquiry as the way,and the method of diversified evaluation as the criterion.Based on the research,the author constructed a STEAM teaching model for design thinking training.The model is divided into four stages: problem identification,conceptual design,work generation,sharing and communication.Each stage constructs specific teaching links.In order to verify the validity of the model,this research mainly takes fifth grade primary school students as the research object of model practice,and uses science courses as the curriculum support of classroom teaching practice to conduct quasi-experimental research.According to the actual teaching situation,this research applies the model to the two topics of the fifth grade science class "Research on Ships" and "Insulation Cup Design".The teaching design is based on the teaching content,based on classroom observations,questionnaires,student works and interview results Analyze the learning effect of students.Research shows that: design thinking can provide guidance methods and tools for the development of STEAM teaching activities;STEAM education provides media support for the cultivation of design thinking;STEAM education is an effective way for students to cultivate design thinking;after the course,students' design thinking,Problem-solving ability,handson practice ability,etc.have been effectively cultivated and improved.
