With the rapid development of contemporary technology and the deepening new curriculum reform,the cultivation of the innovation ability in ordinary primary school education has been put on the agenda.Around the globe,design thinking as a new method of cultivating innovation ability is being accepted by more and more educators,but how to cultivate students' design thinking ability,there is no standard paradigm.At present,domestic robot education is booming and has become new pronoun of innovation among various schools.But it has not been widely applied due to high cost,insufficient talents and limited activity places.Focusing on these two educational hotspot issues,the author takes the LEGO EV3 robot sets as an example,to cultivate the pupils' design thinking ability by practical robot teaching activities and provide some experiences and advices for robot education in elementary schools.This study uses literature research method to analyze a large number of domestic and foreign literatures,to deeply understand the research status of design thinking and the application status of LEGO education,robot education practices can provide strong material support for cultivation of design thinking by analyzing the relevance between robot education and design thinking.The author further analyzes the current authoritative design thinking training models and robot teaching models,and summarizes their commonality: the overall training stage can be divided into enlightenment,conception and sharing.Therefore,the author combines it with Stanford University's D.School design thinking model to construct a new robot teaching model,it consists of four stages: discovery,conception,creation and sharing.And every stage is also divided into specific activity steps.Subsequently,based on constructivist theory,embodied cognitive theory,flow theory,game-based learning theory and cognitive-discovery learning theory,the author uses the Lego EV3 robot sets as teaching tool,to carry out detailed instructional design for the robot teaching in primary school,and carries out practical research in robot interest class from Luoyang first experimental primary school.Finally,through the questionnaire,the design thinking ability of students in this class was tested before and after learning,the author further analyzes research data and comes to a conclusion: Primary school robot teaching has a positive effect on cultivation of the design thinking ability.
