With the advent of the era of knowledge economy,countries all over the world have promoted the cultivation of creativity to the level of national strategy,and promoted the comprehensive competitiveness of the country from the root of talent cultivation.As an important part of creativity cultivation,artistic creativity has also been recognized by many countries attention.STEAM education places art.science,technology,mathematics and Engineering in the same important position.providing a foothold for the cultivation of artistic creativity:the interdisciplinary,iterative and learning process oriented characteristics of design-based learning also provide a reference training scheme for the cultivation of artistic creativity.There are many researches on the definition and teaching mode of STEAM education and design-based learning at home and abroad.but few researches on the design-based STEAM teaching which combines the two.In addition,domestic and foreign researches on cultivating students' artistic creativity through STEAM education or design-based learning are still mostly in the stage of theoretical research,and few of them focus on the empirical research on cultivating artistic creativity.Therefore,on the one hand,this study focuses on building a design-based STEAM teaching model:Based on the analysis of the compatibility between STEAM education and design-based learning and the feasibility of design-based STEAM teaching for the cultivation of artistic creativity,a design-based STEAM teaching mode is constructed,which consists of four parts:teaching content,teaching objectives,teaching process and teaching evaluation.On the other hand,this study mainly verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the design-based STEAM teaching mode for the cultivation of artistic creativity of primary school students:Based on the teaching content of "Flying Appreciation" in the first volume of the art course of the fourth grade in primary school,the design based STEAM teaching was designed,and the teaching practice was carried out for two weeks in Wuhan H Primary School.In order to verify the effectiveness of the design-based STEAM teaching mode on the cultivation of artistic creativity of primary school students,a single group of pre-test and post-test teaching experiments were carried out in this study.Before and after teaching,students' artistic creativity was evaluated with the artistic creativity scale and creative task,and the students' classroom works and teacher-student interview data were collected as qualitative data to further interpret the quantitative data analysis results.The final conclusions are as follows:(1)The design-based STEAM teaching mode can significantly improve the artistic creativity of primary school students;(2)There is no significant gender difference in artistic creativity level of primary school students;(3)According to the results measured by the scale,the design-based STEAM teaching mode has a more obvious effect on the enhancement of female students' artistic creativity.
