Nowadays,the continuous development of Internet technology has changed the requirements for learners’ comprehensive qualities.In the era of information intelligence,the demand for talent has become more diverse.High-quality innovat ive talents can better meet the needs of future society.In the continuous improve ment of teaching methods,scholars from various countries are actively exploring new teaching modes adapted to social development to improve national competitive ness.The proposal of STEAM education breaks the tradition of focusing only on the transmission of specific knowledge and skills and ignoring the links between knowledge and skill in various disciplines to meet the need of learners to improve their knowledge application skill and comprehensive quality.The STEAM education concept emphasizes on the cultivation of students’ scientific literacy,technical ability,engineering knowledge,artistic accomplishment,and mathematical calculations,and aims to cultivate new-type composite talents in the context of the current era.Therefore,this study explores project teaching in STEAM education with the science classroom in the elementary school as the carrier,and designs project teaching based on the connotation,characteristics,and concepts of STEAM education.This article mainly uses the literature analysis method,questionnaire survey method and education experiment method.Firstly,the research background of project teaching in STEAM education is put forward,the questions are raised,the research significance,ideas and methods are analyzed,and the current research status at home and abroad is classified and analyzed.Secondly,it defines the concept of STEAM education and project teaching,and provides theoretical basis to support research.Third,the questionnaire survey used to investigate and analyze the current status of the implementation of project teaching in STEAM education in science classrooms in elementary schools.Fourth,based on the analysis of the questionnaire and related literature,the course implementation strategy of project teaching in STEAM education is proposed,and the project teaching case design based on the STEAM education concept in elementary school science is designed.Last the project teaching research in STEAM education is summarized,and the innovation and deficiencies of this article are explained,and further research directions are proposed.A survey of the implementation of project teaching in STEAM education in the science classroom of elementary school found that project teaching in STEAM education has a good application foundation as a new teaching mode,but there is some certainty in the use of project teaching in practical classrooms.Difficult,the effect of the development is not ideal.In view of the above problems,combined with related literature research,the design and implementation strategies of project teaching in STEAM education are proposed.The design strategies include feasibility analysis,project theme selection,construction principles,and teaching evaluation.Implementation strategies include flexible scheduling of teaching time,Form study groups reasonably and clarify the role of teachers.
