STEAM education has gradually emerged,and various countries have launched STEAM education courses.Educators use this way to cultivate comprehensive talents for their own countries that can consolidate its positon in the world.STEAM education is gradually being carried out in China,but the research about STEAM curriculum design is not mature enough.When the author searching for the literature with the key words of “STEM Course” and “STEAM Course”,find out there are few documents about STEAM practice cases in primary schools in China.Relevant research shows that cultivating students' comprehensive ability from primary school is conducive to the future development of students.Project-based learning has always been a kind of teaching practice,involving a wide range of scientific fields.Learners only focus on the study of subject knowledge,ignoring the learning of practical ability.However,the STEAM education can not only enhance students' understanding,but also promote students' cognitive development and physical and mental development,and help students improve their attitude towards technology and science.Therefore,designing a STEAM course that meets the needs of primary school students in China is a prerequisite for education.This research adopts research methods such as literature research,design research,and questionnaire survey.The "STEAM curriculum in primary school" is used as the research object to carry out curriculum design research.This paper summarizes the research status of domestic and foreign research through literature review,and defines the related concepts of this paper,such as the project curriculum reconstruction concept,STEAM curriculum,STEAM literacy,etc.Secondly,it analyzes the subject curriculum standards of Chinese primary schools and discussing the project reconstruction of the subject curriculum to support the STEAM course design.And then puts forward the concept and principle of STEAM curriculum design in primary schools in China.Based on this,the design of STEAM curriculum for primary schools is carried out,and provides corresponding cases.The primary school STEAM course designed in this paper was implemented in September 2017.During the implementation process,the students' relevant data were collected.After the course,the students were surveyed,and the feasibility and effectiveness of the course were verified from the aspects of students and implementation.Finally,The research conclusion of this paper is that the primary school STEAM course based on the project curriculum reconstruction has a positive effect on the students' ability.And the content of the course is in line with the students' cognitive level and can stimulate students' interest.At the end of this paper,the shortcomings of the research and the outlook for the future are pointed out.
