The history of chemistry is not only a historical exposition of the system of chemical knowledge,but also a complete presentation of the development process of chemical knowledge.The history of chemistry not only describes the germination and development of the discipline,but also includes the evolution of the discipline knowledge,methods and thinking,reflecting the spiritual quality of chemical research,which is a valuable resource for the cultivation of core literacy.The application of chemical history teaching in the classroom can enhance interest,sort out knowledge,infiltrate methods,cultivate thinking,nourish spirit,and truly understand the nature of science.The 2017 curriculum standard attaches great importance to the history of chemistry.It puts forward requirements for the history of chemistry in the basic ideas,content standards and implementation suggestions.It also puts forward a number of chemical history materials for teachers to use.Textbook is a direct tool for teachers and students to contact and understand the history of chemistry.To a certain extent,the compilation of teaching materials affects the depth and breadth of teachers and students’ understanding of the history of chemistry.In the past,domestic scholars did not lack the research on the history of chemistry in the textbooks.The horizontal and vertical research on the 2007 edition of the textbooks showed the characteristics of the compilation of the history of chemistry.In 2019,new teaching materials will be used in all regions of the country.What are the characteristics of compiling the history of chemistry in the new textbook?Is it possible to solve the problems in compiling the history of chemistry in the old textbooks?What is the current situation of middle school teachers’ teaching of Applied Chemistry History?This paper studies this problem.Through reading the relevant literature,understand the current situation of the analysis of the history of chemistry,clarify the scope of this study,design research tools.Based on the Leiter analysis scale,combined with the analysis model in the relevant literature,this paper selects 10 analysis indicators of this paper,through the analysis of the chemical history in the two sets of compulsory textbooks of PEP,which are chemistry compulsory 1 and 2 in 2007 edition and chemistry compulsory 1 and 2 in 2019 edition,It is concluded that the Compiling Characteristics of the new textbook are as follows:the number of the history of chemistry increases and the space occupied increases;Increase the history of unfamiliar concepts and theories;More about the basis of previous studies;Pay attention to guide the dialectical understanding of science;It emphasizes the tentative nature of scientific development;Add related research and practice tasks;The introduction of "model" method is added.At the same time,there are still some deficiencies in the compilation of the new textbook:lack of image description of scientists;The imbalance between internal history and external history;The description of scientific method is lack of inspiration;The gender,age and regional distribution of scientists are uneven;Lack of scientific arguments and mistakes;Most of them appear in non text position.Both the quantity and the quality of the contents of the history of chemistry in the new textbooks have made great progress.This shows that the new textbook keeps pace with the new curriculum standard,which improves the importance of the content of chemical history and the status of the content of chemical history in the new textbook.So,what’s the current situation of Applied Chemistry History Teaching in middle school?Based on a questionnaire survey of 12 teachers and 680 students in an ordinary middle school in Taiyuan City,Shanxi Province,this paper draws the following conclusions:the reserve of chemistry history of teachers is small,and teachers are not aware of some important events and important figures in the development of chemistry;Teachers and students can recognize the necessity of integrating chemical history into chemistry teaching and recognize the value of chemical history in teaching and learning;Teachers’ lack of understanding of the function of chemical history,single form of application,and often use chemical formula as embellishment in the classroom to arouse students’ interest;Teaching materials are important resources for teachers and students to understand the history of chemistry.In order to solve the problems of "single teaching form and low integration degree in chemistry history class",the author thinks that we can actively use the existing teaching mode of chemistry history,dig in-depth historical data,and design the teaching as a whole with the background of chemistry history.Therefore,based on the"four line" teaching mode,two teaching cases of chemical history,oxidation-reduction reaction and methane,are developed in order to provide some reference for front-line teachers.On the basis of the research,some suggestions are put forward for compiling the textbook of Chemical History:increasing domestic/contemporary/female scientists and properly displaying the image of scientists;Increase the introduction of social background;Increase the disputes and mistakes in the development of chemistry;Changing the position of chemistry history and enriching learning methods.At the same time,some suggestions are put forward to the front-line teachers:actively study the content of chemical history in many ways,strengthen the construction of their own material library,expand the function of chemical history,reverse the narrow situation,take the material of chemical history as the teaching context,guide the formation and development of students’ chemical knowledge,and actively study and explore the teaching mode related to chemical history.In addition,it is suggested that chemistry history should be included in the current training of chemistry normal students. |
