Digital reading refers to the cognitive behavior of obtaining information in the process of reading through digital devices.With the rapid development of science and technology,our life has entered the digital era.More and more digital devices carry more and more information.Our life is inseparable from digital reading.In 2020,when COVID-19 suddenly broke out,with the call of the state to suspend classes,a lot of digital reading in the online course became a great challenge in the learning process.So,does the level of digital reading have an impact on the chemistry study of junior high school students,and how much impact does it have?How much is the correlation between their digital capital,reading tendency,digital reading frequency and digital reading habits and their chemistry academic performance?In just a few months of digital reading as the main way of learning,will their learning style change?In order to solve the above problems,through the literature method and questionnaire survey method,we selected junior high school students in the form of online learning during the epidemic period as the research object,and investigated and analyzed the influence of junior high school students’ digital reading on chemistry learning.This study is divided into five parts:the first part is the introduction,which introduces the problem,research background and significance,research methods.The second part is the literature review,which expounds the meaning of the core concepts of"reading" and "digital reading",and on this basis,comprehensively reviews the research status of the impact of digital reading on academic achievement.The third part is the development of the questionnaire and its reliability and validity test.The fourth part is the implementation of the questionnaire survey and data analysis,and on this basis,it analyzes the status quo of junior three students’ digital reading,influencing factors and their correlation with chemistry academic performance,and compares and analyzes the influence of different reading methods on junior three students’ chemistry performance and chemistry reading performance.The fifth part is the conclusion and discussion,summarizes the research innovation and shortcomings.The conclusions are as follows:1.From the application status of digital reading in Chemistry Learning:students generally have good digital capital,and can use digital reading to solve problems and increase knowledge in chemistry learning,and recognize the application value of digital reading in chemistry learning.However,before and after the epidemic,although the number of reading time of junior three students in chemistry learning has increased,their reading habits have not changed much during the online learning of several months,and they prefer to use paper reading.2.Chemistry studies will be influenced by digital capital,reading habit preference and value recognition of digital reading.The longer the learning time of digital reading,the greater the influence of digital reading on the change of achievement.3.When using the same paper,the score of digital reading group is higher than that of paper reading group,which indicates that digital reading improves students’ chemistry test score to a certain extent.4.When completing the same popular science reading question,the score of paper reading group is higher than that of digital reading group,which indicates that paper reading is more conducive to students’ reading in the reading of large paragraphs of text.Combined with the above conclusions,the further application of digital reading in chemistry learning is prospected.Through the design and development of three-dimensional reading materials,providing richer multimedia reading content,enhancing the interactive function of electronic textbooks,and enhancing the timely evaluation of students,digital reading will have a more profound impact on students’learning.
