The effectiveness of STEM teaching is the key to the implementation and future development of STEM education.This paper takes the STEM teaching of LQ school in N city as the observation object,establishes the effectiveness standard and the observation tool of STEM teaching.The author conducted a semester observation in the case school.According to the observation results,this paper analyzes the effectiveness of STEM teaching and the problems existing in STEM teaching,and puts forward some suggestions for further optimizing STEM teaching..The paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction.It mainly introduces the research background,the significance of the research purpose,the research content and methods,combs the relevant literature at home and abroad,and defines the core concepts used in this paper.The second part aims to establish the observation and analysis framework of STEM teaching effectiveness.The author interprets the authoritative STEM teaching cases in USA,summarizes the basic values and effectiveness standards of STEM teaching,and determines the observation dimension,observation perspective and observation index,so as to forms the observation framework of STEM teaching effectiveness.The third part is the STEM teaching effectiveness observation research design,including clear observation ideas,determine observation objects,and develop of observation tools suitable for the analysis framework.Observation tools include the combination of qualitative observation and quantitative observation to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the study.The fourth part shows and analyzes the observation results of the effectiveness of STEM teaching.From the three dimensions of STEM teaching effectiveness observation,it presents the qualitative data and quantitative data obtained from the observation research,and truly shows the development of STEM education in the class.The fifth part presents the research conclusions on the effectiveness of STEM teaching based on the observation and research,analyzes the problems that affect the effectiveness of STEM teaching,and puts forward the strategies and suggestions to further optimize STEM teaching in view of these problems.Finally,the author reflects on some shortcomings of this paper.
