In the practice of basic education reform in China, the reform of music education of local characteristic music has been stagnant. The backwardness of music education concepts and teaching methods of such kind, and the high degree of unity of music teaching materials have led to the unicity of music classes. This requires music teachers to innovate teaching practices and enrich teaching methods under the premise of ensuring the progress of teaching goals.Based on the music culture and curriculum resource utilization and development in the New Curriculum Standard, the thesis discusses the theoretical basis and practical significance of introducing the local music resources into the middle school music class. The questionnaire was distributed, collected, and sorted out in several schools in Bazhong, which reported the status quo of middle school students' and their teachers' cognition of local music. And then stresses the nature and necessity of music education as a medium for the inheritance and development of local music culture. In the traditional school music teaching mode, the teaching purpose and teaching content of the school music curriculum usually do not have local characteristics. The unity of the curriculum teaching content and the setting of the music curriculum structure make the music teaching mode not innovative and unique. The charm of diversity cannot be shown.Starting from theory and practice, the article explores the importance and feasibility of integrating Bazhong local characteristic music resources into middle school music education,so as to consolidate and strengthen the theoretical basis for the diversified development of middle school music courses.
