The report of the 19th National Congress stressed that the contradiction facing Chinese have evolved.As we have entered a new stage of development,people's pursuit of spiritual and cultural level has become a major trend in our modern society.Advocating cultural construction,cultivating noble artistic sentiments and pursuing a better social life have become the common goals of contemporary people.Music teaching is a vital part of junior high school curriculum.Therefore,this paper points out that it is necessary to emphasize the importance of music class in the curriculum standard of junior high school teaching.In addition,in music teaching,making students feel and appreciate music is the key part of music learning,which can not only improve students'aesthetic ability,but also cultivate students'artisticsentiment.Music is a kind of culture,which can accurately convey people's thoughts and feelings,and it also plays a particularly important role in education,for example,it can educate people to establish a correct three views,in addition,it can also improve people's aesthetic standards and promote human development.As for junior high school students,they are in a critical period of physical and psychological construction.Cultivating their ability to appreciate music can greatly promote the cultivation of students'creative thinking,and can also promote students to establish a correct outlook on life,world outlook and values at thisstage.This research mainly focuses on the investigation and analysis of the present situation of music appreciation classroom teaching in junior middle schools in Guzhang County,Xiangxi Prefecture,Hunan Province.Through literature research and questionnaire survey,this paper finds out that there are some problems in music appreciation classroom teaching of junior middle schools in Guzhang County,western Hunan Province,such as backward teaching concepts,teachers'quality and ability to be improved,and teaching methods to be updated.Then,based on the author's teaching practice,the author reflects on how to update teaching ideas,improve teachers'quality and ability,and choose appropriate teaching methods,hoping to have a comprehensive understanding of the current situation of music appreciation classroom teaching in Guzhang County,Xiangxi Prefecture,and put forward suggestions on the existing problems,and make contributions to the balanced development of music appreciation classroom teaching in junior high schools in thisarea.
