As hot word in the education field,Core Literacy has not been clearly proposed in the compulsory education stage."Ten Core Words" have been proposed in order to promote the development of students and better connect with high school stage.As one of the three basic abilities,Mathematical Operation Ability has been included in the curriculum standards of the syllabus since 1963.It can be seen that mathematical operation plays a very important role in the development of students.There are abundant materials about the geographical location and climate characteristics of Bashang region,but few about the basic education.Based on these problems,the research topic is determined,which is of great important to enrich the basic educational materials in Bashang region.The author used the literature research method to determine the topic,the research status and evaluation method.Additionally,the three-dimension evaluation framework of Mathematical Operation Ability was constructed,including content dimension,horizontal dimension and structure dimension.Questionnaire survey method was adopted to test teachers and students respectively,which can get the current situation of Mathematical Operation Ability of students in the third grade in Bashang region from two groups.We also interviewed partial teachers to understand their cognition of Mathematical Operation Ability and the factors of students' mathematical ability.Overall,this paper put forward some teaching suggestions to improve students' Mathematical Operation Ability.Some third grade students from two middle schools in Zhangbei County,Hebei Province were tested and results were analyzed by Excel and SPSS.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The Mathematical Operation Ability of the third grade students in Bashang region is in the first level;(2)there is a big gap between the Mathematical Operation Ability of the third grade students in Bashang region and the requirement of the compulsory curriculum standard;(3)a significant difference of the Mathematical Operation Ability is in different schools,but there is no significant difference among the gender;(4)some teachers do not fully understand the "Ten Core Words" in the compulsory education stage,and lack of systematic learning;(5)the factors that affect the Mathematical Operation Ability of students include interest,cognitive structure,teaching materials,understanding of compulsory curriculum standard from teachers.According to the research results,the internal and external factors were analyzed and teaching suggestions were put forward:(1)Regional culture should be integrated into teaching to improve students' interest;(2)students should strengthen their basic knowledge and master algorithms;(3)students should develop mathematical thinking and explore operational ideas;(4)students should be proficient in algorithms and design algorithms;(5)role models should be set to cultivate students' mathematical habits;(6)the quality of teachers should be improved and teaching objectives should be optimized.In addition,three teaching cases are given to cultivate students' Mathematical Operation Ability under the reference curriculum standard.
