In the knowledge society with an explosion of information,knowledge visualization with the main features of"graphical"and"pictorial"has gradually shown its advantages in the process of knowledge acquisition,transmission and creation.Recent researches have verified the effectiveness of knowledge visualization in reducing cognitive load,improving knowledge transfer efficiency,and promoting the internalization of complex knowledge from various aspects,and therefore,knowledge visualization is also valuable in the field of education.However,from the current research,the application of knowledge visualization in the field of education is not clearly targeted and not closely integrated with disciplinary theories.Therefore,this study links the related theories of knowledge visualization with the characteristics of biology knowledge in senior high schools,and proposes the idea of teaching application of knowledge visualization aiming at breaking through the difficult points of teaching.Firstly,this paper provides an overview of relevant literature on knowledge visualization at home and abroad,summarizes and analyzes the current situation of research,clarifies the application framework of knowledge visualization.Then,guided by the application framework,the ADDIE model of"Analysis,Design,Develop,Implement and Evaluate"in instructional design is taken as the design idea to construct the application model of knowledge visualization teaching.The model includes five parts:knowledge demand collection,instructional analysis,instructional design construction,teaching implementation and teaching effect evaluation.Then,taking the content of"photosynthesis"in the first volume of Life Sciences of Shanghai Science Edition as an example,the application model was constructed and practiced.The practice is divided into three steps:first,the difficult knowledge in the section of"photosynthesis"is collected through a questionnaire survey of teachers and students,which corresponds to the"knowledge demand collection"aspect of the model;next,the difficult knowledge is collected under the guidance of knowledge classification theory and application framework and visual representation related strategies.Next,under the guidance of knowledge classification theory,application framework and related strategies of visual representation,the difficult knowledge is analyzed and the appropriate strategies and visual representation tools are selected for visual design.Combined with the analysis of teaching content and learning situation,a complete instructional design is constructed,which corresponds to the"instructional analysis"and"instructional design construction"in the model.Finally,a quasi-experimental study was carried out in two parallel classes in Grade One of a senior high school in Shanghai.The experimental group was taught to break through the teaching difficulties of photosynthesis with knowledge visualization,while the other class was used as a control group to carry out traditional teaching.Both classes took pre and post tests,and analyzed the differences between the two classes in terms of their understanding of the difficulties of photosynthesis and their solutions,which corresponded to the"teaching implementation"and"teaching effect evaluation"part in the model.It was found that students who were taught with the"visualization of knowledge to break through the difficulties of photosynthesis"method had higher overall scores on the post-test compared to those who were taught with the traditional method,and they were able to solve the difficult point of"effect of CO2on photosynthesis".This shows that the knowledge visualization strategy is effective in breaking through the difficult points in high school biology.This paper constructs an application model of knowledge visualization teaching with the goal of breaking through difficulties,carries out specific teaching practice around this model,and puts forward suggestions for possible problems,providing certain reference for the application of knowledge visualization in teaching;In addition,the strategy of breaking through difficulties is focused on specific knowledge points,and the teaching effect is tested,which provides ideas for breaking through difficulties in practical teaching.
