With the continuous reform of language teaching,it is increasingly important to improve the language literacy of teachers and students.The reading-aid system is an integral part of the four major systems of the Ministry's junior secondary language teaching materials,which closely linked to the knowledge system,the text selection system and the training system with an irreplaceable status.It is a guide for teachers in determining their teaching objectives,a small helpful tool for students in their independent learning,and an important pivot in linking editors,teachers and students.Effective use of the reading-aid system can be of great help in improving teachers' teaching efficiency and students' learning ability.However,the current usage situation is not promising,thus how to use the reading-aid system reasonably for teaching is a problem that must be solved for current language teaching.This thesis focuses on the use of the Ministry's junior secondary language textbook reading-aid system using the literature research method,questionnaire survey method and case study method.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the main body of this study consists of four chapters.Firstly,a comprehensive review of the literature on reading-aid system is conducted to define the concept of reading-aid system,clarify the four components of reading-aid system,and summarise the functions of reading-aid system.Secondly,the study sheer from theory to practice,mainly by means of questionnaires and interviews to understand the current use of the reading-aid system in language teaching and learning,which using scientific statistical methods to summarise the problems that exist in the use of the reading-aid system by teachers and students.Then,as the major chapter of this thesis,a targeted approach to the use of the system is proposed and an attempt is made to carry out 'How to do'based on the problems.Finally,the teaching of the reading text Dedication and Joy and the self-reading text Stepping Stones are combined with examples of the use of the elements of the reading-aid system to design teaching cases and to analyse the use of the reading-aid system in the texts for better operability.we hope to better assist teachers and students to carry out their learning and teaching activities efficiently and scientifically through the above discussion to indeed promote the correct use of the reading-aid system and to maximize its benefits to help both teaching and learning.
