President Xi Jinping proposed that education is a major plan for the country and for the Party.President Xi particularly emphasizes the fairness of education and rural revitalization,paying high attention to rural compulsory education and the development of rural teachers.Primary school physical education teachers,as the main leaders and operators of primary school physical education,must continuously improve their own literacy and teaching quality to meet the needs of their profession and the development of the times.This paper takes 52 physical education teachers from 20 rural primary schools in Laohekou City as the survey object.It mainly uses the research methods of questionnaire survey,literature review,interview,etc.,to analyze the basic situation,professional development,scientific research,and continuing education of teachers.Here are the survey results:1.In Laohekou City,rural primary schools are short of full-time physical education teachers.The ratio of full-time physical education teachers to students is 1:937.72.Most of the physical education courses are undertaken part time by class teachers or elder teachers in other subjects.Rural primary school physical education teachers tend to be aging and to have a large gender gap with male physical education teachers accounting for 71.15% of the total.Nearly half of primary school physical education teachers have college degrees or lower levels of education.Physical education teachers work longer but earn less.2.More than 90% of physical education teachers in rural primary schools in Laohekou believe that professional development is necessary.46.15% of physical education teachers love the cause of physical education,and 21.15% of physical education teachers,in lack of professional identity,have played down the consciousness and lost the necessary professional ethics.Physical education teachers in rural primary schools in Laohekou needs further training and improvement in terms of professional knowledge.Among the professional abilities that need to be improved,the teaching ability of physical education technology should be put in the first place.3.Physical education teachers in rural elementary schools in Laohekou is weak in terms of the level of scientific research and ability,with weak scientific research awareness and a small number of sports scientific research articles,in which most of them are published on municipal journals.The main reasons are that most physical education teachers have a superficial understanding of scientific research and fail to realize the importance of scientific research to their own development.Schools in rural areas are in poor hardware conditions and are hardly equipped with the equipment required for physical education research.So it is difficult for physical education teachers to conduct research in this area.The sports scientific research atmosphere is not strong and lacks corresponding incentive mechanisms.4.The physical education teachers of rural primary schools in Laohekou maintain a positive attitude towards continuing education,but they have few opportunities to receive continuing education.Nearly half of the physical education teachers have not participated in the training within five years.The training methods for physical education teachers to receive continuing education are simply online education,through which the information of education quality and participation can hardly be fed back.5.Targeting at the problems of physical education teachers in rural primary schools in Laohekou City and the development of teachers,researches show that reforms and optimizations should be made from the following aspects:(1)Promote the balanced allocation of teachers' educational resources;(2)Explore the path of development of physical education teachers;(3)Improve the professional responsibility and development awareness of physical education teachers;(4)Cultivate the scientific research awareness and ability of physical education teachers;(5)Strengthen continuing education and cultivate the concept of lifelong learning;(6)Raise salary and enhance professional sense of honor.
