Chinese curriculum standard for senior high school,which is newly revised by the Ministry of Education,officially brings into whole book reading for its curriculum.The author is delighted and also recognizes that there are some problems in the development and evaluation of the whole book reading teaching in middle and primary schools,such as weak consciousness guidance of teachers,single teaching method and insufficient attention to students' literacy.These problems often result in the inefficiency of teaching.Therefore,the author launches an investigation into the current statue of the whole book reading in senior Chinese of primary school.The author analyzes the problems existing in the whole book reading under the current situation though the investigation and gives reasonable suggestions for these problems.This thesis focuses on three aspects:The first part mainly discusses the basis and value of the whole book reading teaching.The whole book reading teaching is a teaching activity mainly around the whole book and attempts to break the limitations of the selected textbooks.According to the different characteristics of students,it selects different reading topics and teachers can provide guidance during the process of reading the whole book.The course type for the whole book reading teaching can be guided reading class,discussion class,writing class and so on.The whole book reading teaching mainly relies on Ye Shengtao's whole book reading teaching theory,humanism theory,Goodman's "whole language theory" and Sato's "learning community".The certain reading ability of the senior primary school students and senior primary school is the suitable starting point for a large number of reading provide the feasibility for the whole book reading.The development of the whole book reading in senior primary school is helpful to cultivate the reading habits of primary school students,improve their reading ability and enhance their Chinese core literacy.The second part mainly investigates and analyzes the current situation of the whole book reading in senior Chinese of primary school.The author uses questionnaire survey,observation and interview to investigate the whole book reading teaching in the author's work unit,and finds some problems such as weak sense of reading guidance and a single reading method and lack of serial reading content in the teaching of senior Chinese of primary school.The main courses of these problems are the lack of a certain reading environment in school and family,teachers' weak sense of guidance,the lack of reading literacy,and the lack of attention and planning of students to the whole book reading.In the third part,the author combines the concept and characteristics of "the whole book reading teaching",and explores the strategies of the whole book reading teaching in senior primary school in view of the existing problems.Schools,society and family can create a certain environment for students to read the whole book.Teachers can guide students in the aspects of book selection,reading method,course implementation and evaluation.Students can improve the reading effect of the whole book through thematic reading,link reading and diversified reading.
