Grassroots Organizations And Community Inclusion Of The Migrating Elders

With the increasingly growing urbanization,the population mobility from rural areas to cities and small towns to metropolises has become more and more frequent,and elders also have been involved in that process in recent years.Some of them migrated to cities with their kids,so that the community inclusion became the primary problem facing by these elders.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the improvement of community inclusion of the migrating elders to integrate into the local society,secure their physical and mental health and improve their life wellbeing.Taking the grassroots organizations and the migrating elders in Community J as the research objects,this paper carries out the investigation research through literature analysis,questionnaire survey,interview and observation and explores the role of grassroots organizations in the community inclusion of the migrating elders with the support of social support network theory.The paper is divided into the following 4 parts,part 1 selects the representative Community J to study the grassroots organizations and the migrating elders in the community,and grasps the present situation of the grassroots organizations and the migrating elders in Community J;taking grassroots organizations as variables,part 2 makes a cross-analysis on the survey data of four aspects of community inclusion of migrating elders,and measures the differences of different types of the migrating elders’ community inclusion.The survey shows that different types of the migrating elders have their differences in community inclusion,the community inclusion of those who joined in grassroot organizations has been improved;from the perspective of social action,part 3 interviewed and observed the community inclusion of migrating elders who joined in grassroots organizations.It has been found that the migrating elders carried out social interaction and community participation through joining in grassroots organizations so that their social behavior and psychology have undergone positive changes,thus enhancing their community inclusion.Grassroots organizations play a positive role in the community inclusion of migrating elders;part 4 puts forward the ways of grassroots organizations to promote the community inclusion of the migrating elders,i.e.grassroots organizations provide support for the social interaction of the migrating elders,promote the building of social network and obtain informal support,and it also provides support for the migrating elders to join in the community and help them obtain formal support with community resources.Finally,on the basis of the result of grassroot organizations promote community inclusion of the migrating elders of this paper,in view of the problem that the migrating elders in communities is fewer in number and unsatisfactory community integration condition,it proposes the following countermeasures,namely social worker’ s intervention in the participation dilemma of the migrating elders,strengthening the service ability of grassroot organizations,broadening the ways for the migrating elders to join in grassroots organizations,encouraging the founding of grassroots organizations and diversification of activities,so as to give full play to the role of grassroots organizations in promoting the community integration of the migrating elders and advocate the migrating elders in joining in grassroots organizations.
