Study On The Works Of Mathematics Educator Liu Xunyu

Liu Xunyu has experienced three periods in his life including the late Qing Dynasty,the Republic of China,and the early days of the founding of New China.He is a famous modern mathematician and mathematics educator in my country.Mathematics educators' thoughts,opinions,works on mathematics education,as well as their own personality qualities,etc.can be used as valuable wealth to reflect on current mathematics education and inherit my country's fine education traditions.This article systematically researches Liu Xunyu's works using literature research method,case analysis method and historical research method.Excavate the characteristics and educational value of Liu Xunyu's works,in order to draw lessons from contemporary middle school students,mathematics educators,and writers of mathematics popular science books in our country.Through sorting and research,it is found that there are books on popular science of mathematics,mathematics textbooks and articles,which have had a profound impact on then and now.The edited "Mathematics Taste","The Garden of Mathematics","Mr.Ma on Mathematical Studies" and other popular science books have been republished many times.Under the background that there was no official uniform regulation on the use of certain mathematics textbooks,the compilation of mathematics textbooks for subjects such as arithmetic,algebra,and plane geometry was widely used throughout the country.According to incomplete statistics,Liu Xunyu published more than 130 articles in different periods,including 24 articles on mathematics education.The educational value of Liu Xunyu's mathematics popular science books includes:first,Pay attention to the connection between knowledge and life;second,In-depth guidance at all levels,paying attention to learning methods;Third,advocate "whole-person education";fourth,combine mathematics with text,and feel the fun of mathematics;fifth,inherit knowledge and widely recognized.The educational value of Liu Xunyu's textbooks includes: first,attach importance to the "infiltration of mathematical thinking and methods in example exercises";second,set up exercises layer by layer to inspire students to learn;third,practice in time and attach importance to the consolidation of knowledge.The educational value of Liu Xunyu's articles on mathematics education includes: first,consider the potential of students and develop the rigor of mathematics;second,pay attention to mathematics learning methods;third,pay attention to independent thinking ability.
