Enhancing the core literacy of mathematical modeling for high school students in China is an essential training goal of 17 new standards and an important object for implementing core literacy in mathematics in China.The concept of shaping students' core literacy in mathematical modeling in teaching has become one of the critical issues in developing the core literacy of mathematics for high school students in China.In this paper,we use the content of "Probability Statistics" to show the direction for the learning of core literacy in mathematical modeling and to suggest the formation and development of the teaching.This paper focuses on the following aspects of research:(1)By reviewing the relevant literature,we understand the background of mathematical modeling and the teaching of "probability statistics," as well as the theoretical and conceptual definition of the core literacy of mathematical modeling for students,to provide academic support and scientific basis for the subsequent research of this paper.(2)This paper examines the implementation of the core literacy of mathematical modeling in high school teaching by analyzing the content of the curriculum and the college entrance examination and understanding the status of "probability statistics" in the high school curriculum,to provide a factual basis for the subsequent research.(3)The questionnaires and interviews with teachers and students clearly show the implementation of the core literacy of mathematical modeling in the teaching of "probability statistics" in three high schools of different learning levels in Mudanjiang."We also interviewed the front-line teachers about the design of this paper to provide suitable materials and proofs for the implementation of this paper under the core literacy of mathematical modeling.(4)Based on the previous research,this paper proposes a summary and suggestions for teaching "probability statistics" based on the core literacy of mathematical modeling.It provides tips and improvements for each teaching step based on the teaching design specifications,to provide teaching guidance and practical experience for front-line teachers,which can effectively improve teachers' teaching quality and effectively cultivate and develop students' core literacy in mathematical modeling.In this paper,we present a summary of each teaching step based on the teaching design specifications.
