The teaching of animal-themed selections is an important part of junior high school language teaching materials,and the teaching of animal-themed selections is the focus of language teaching.However,in the current educational context,the teaching of animal-themed selections in junior high school language presents the situation of neglecting the characteristics of animal topics and being seriously influenced by exam-oriented education thinking,so it is urgent to provide feasible teaching strategies.Therefore,the core of this paper is to study the teaching strategies of animal-themed selected texts in junior high school language,hoping that this study can promote the theory and practice of teaching animal-themed selected texts,provide guidance and suggestions for junior high school language teachers in this area of teaching,and then improve students' language literacy.This paper adopts the methods of literature analysis,comparative analysis,and text analysis to conduct a comprehensive study on the teaching strategies of animal-themed text selection in junior high school language,which is now divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly outlines the origin,significance,method,definition of concepts,and the general situation of the study.In the second part,the organization of animal-themed selections in junior high school language textbooks,the classification of content themes and animal images are examined.In terms of the organization of textbooks,they are characterized by small weight,wide distribution and rich genres;in terms of thematic content,animal-themed selections can be divided into three types: narrative,popular science and allegorical;animal images are of various types and have ontological and symbolic values.In the third part,through questionnaires and interviews,we analyze the current situation of teaching animal subjects in junior high school language,and conclude that there are problems of subjectivization,rationalization,generalization and utilitarianism in teaching in this area.In the fourth part,the teaching case "The Flying of the Antelope" by Gan Guoxiang is analyzed in terms of text interpretation,teaching process and teaching reflection;meanwhile,this case has triggered many controversies,mainly focusing on three aspects: ignoring the text and losing the flavor of language,over-explaining the text,and emphasizing the form and neglecting the content.This case and the controversies have implications for the teaching of animal-themed selected texts,such as the need for both humanistic and instrumental aspects in such teaching,respecting the plurality of text interpretation,building an equal dialogue platform,keeping close to the animal-themed selected texts,and carefully selecting the teaching contents of animal-themed selected texts.In the fifth part,based on the above research,this paper proposes teaching strategies for animal-themed selected texts in junior high school language,pointing out that the teaching of animal-themed selected texts should explore and pay attention to the educational value of animal-themed selected texts and improve students' language literacy;integrate animal-themed selected texts to form systematic teaching;and develop animal special classrooms to improve the teaching efficiency of animal-themed selected texts.
