With the process of the new curriculum reform,in order to comply with the teaching requirement of "student-centered",we should really give full play to students’ autonomy,let students learn on their own initiative,and at the same time encourage students to learn how to learn geography,some corresponding changes need to be made in geography teaching methods.With the deepening of the third scientific and technological revolution,information technology has penetrated into different fields to varying degrees.With the rapid development of the Internet and multimedia,the accessibility of information has been constantly improved.More and more information technology has entered the geography classroom.It is great significance for geography teaching to make proper use of the existing geographic information technology platform software and resources.On the basis of related theories,this paper studies the geography situational teaching in high school based on Google Earth by using the methods of literature research,case study,experiment research and comparative analysis.The main contents of this paper include the following parts: to understand the domestic and foreign research on the application of Google Earth in geography teaching through consulting the literature,to understand the application of geography situational teaching research,to summarize the related research,to define the concepts of situational teaching and Google Earth.According to different characteristics,geography situation teaching is divided into four categories: life-oriented geography situation teaching,experience-oriented geography situation teaching,question-oriented geography situation teaching and thematic geography situation teaching.According to the situation teaching structure designed by Google Earth,the teaching material is searched by the software of Google Earth and the teaching case of "River Geomorphology" is designed The implementation of the teaching design,through pre-and post-test and classroom observation of geographical situation based on Google Earth teaching effect is analyzed.The experimental results show that the geographical situation teaching based on Google Earth can effectively promote students’ geographical learning,and the geographical situation teaching based on Google Earth can effectively improve students’ learning enthusiasm and concentration,the teaching of geography by Google Earth is helpful to the development and promotion of students’ ability of spatial orientation,map reading and comprehensive analysis Situational teaching based on Google Earth is not suitable for novice geography teachers or geography teachers with weak classroom control ability.
