Since the 21 st century,countries all over the world have taken the cultivation of students’ key competencies as a strategic issue of national development.According to their own development needs,they have put forward the framework of key competencies with various characteristics.In 2016,China released a general framework for the development of key competencies for Chinese students,which mainly includes three aspects: cultural foundation,independent development and social participation,with the goal of "For the all-round development of students".Under the background of key competencies,as the implementer of primary school music education,primary school music teachers shoulder the important task of improving primary school students’ key competencies,and their own professional development plays an irreplaceable role in integrating key competencies into primary school music education.Therefore,primary school music teachers need to constantly improve their own professional ethics,professional development level,classroom teaching ability,scientific research ability and team cooperation ability,in order to better cope with key competencies of primary school music teachers proposed by the challenge.This study takes some primary school music teachers in Xinxiang City as the research object.In order to analyze the problems existing in the professional development of primary school music teachers,literature analysis method,questionnaire survey method and interview survey method were adopted,and the corresponding strategies were put forward based on the above methods.The main content includes three parts:The first part: the corresponding concepts are defined which including key competencies,key competencies of music discipline,professional development of teachers and professional development of music teachers.On this basis,the paper concludes the mutually promoting relationship between key competencies of music discipline and professional development of music teachers.At the same time,the paper also puts forward key competencies of music for music teachers professional development requirements.The second part: questionnaire survey was conducted on the basic situation of primary school music teachers in Xinxiang City,teachers’ understanding of the key competencies of music discipline,teachers’ professional development status,and the ways and approaches of teacher professional development,and interview primary school music teachers’ views on the key competencies and teacher professional development related issues.Through questionnaire survey and interview survey,this paper analyzes the problems existing in teacher professional development.The third part: according to the questionnaire and interview analysis of the problems,we mainly put forward strategies from three aspects: education administration department,school and teachers themselves.It strives to promote the professional development of local primary school music teachers through multiple measures,achieving the goal to cultivate key competencies of music for primary school students,and to promote the comprehensive development of primary school students’ character and ability.
