In 1966,a document entitled "Recommendations on the Status of Teachers" adopted by UNESCO stated that "education should be regarded as a profession,which requires teachers to undergo rigorous and continuous research in order to obtain and maintain the profession.Education also requires teachers to have a personal and shared responsibility for the education and well-being of the students they teach." In December 1995,the State Council promulgated the Teacher Qualification Regulations.In 2000,the Ministry of Education promulgated the Measures for the Implementation of Teacher Qualification Regulations.Since then,China began to implement the teacher qualification system.From the legal confirmation of the professional status of teachers for the first time to the proposal of the teacher qualification system,the problems of teacher professionalization and teacher professional development brought by it have gradually been taken seriously.The promulgation of the "Compulsory Education Music Curriculum Standards" in 2011 brought new changes to the music discipline in basic education,and also put forward higher requirements for music teachers in the new era.Teachers,as the organizers and implementer of the classroom,are the key to the success of basic education reform,Therefore,it is valuable to effectively promote the professional development and professionalization of music teachers.Teachers' professional development includes novice,proficient and expert stages.What is the current situation of novice teachers in professional development? What factors are affecting their professional development and what ways they can use in professional development? This study focuses on the professional development of novice teachers of music in primary school in Qingyang District,Chengdu.This paper consists of five chapters as follows:The first chapter mainly introduces the research background,research significance and research status.The second chapter is based on the theory-consulting a large amount of literature of teacher professionalization and the definition of the novice teacher.By analyzing what is the significance of teacher professional development and what factors affect the professional development of music teachers,it provides a theoretical basis for subsequent research,interviews and strategies for the study.The third chapter mainly surveys the professional development status of the elementary music novice teachers in the administrative region where it is located.A truly comprehensive understanding of the current professional development of teachers in this group will be got,which can also provide factual evidence for this study.The fourth chapter is a study on the professional development approach of primary music novice teachers,mainly based on the above theoretical basis and survey.Four strategies are brought out as the following:(1)accumulating professional knowledge;(2)accumulating cultural knowledge;(3)developing teaching skills;and(4)deeply introspection with problem awareness.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,summarizing the factual basis,cause analysis and development approach obtained from the investigation.It is hoped that this article can contribute to the professional development of novice music teachers in recognizing their professional development problems and achieving their professional growth.
