Mathematics reading is a basic mathematics learning activity.Mathematics reading ability is also the cornerstone of developing students' other mathematics learning abilities.Junior high school is an important stage of connection between elementary school and high school.Understanding the current situation of students' mathematics reading ability and its influencing factors at this stage has practical significance.Therefore,this research focuses on "What is the current situation of junior high school students' mathematics reading ability" ? "What are the factors that affect junior high school students' mathematics reading ability" ? "What are the strategies for cultivating junior high school students' mathematics reading ability" On the basis of drawing on the related mathematics reading ability evaluation system,it divides the composition of various dimensions and evaluation criteria of the mathematics reading ability of junior high school students.A total of 304 students in three grades of a junior high school in Lanzhou City and4 first-line mathematics teachers were used as the research objects.The literature analysis method,test paper method,questionnaire survey method and interview method were used to study the current situation of junior high school students' mathematics reading ability and influencing factors,The status of the mathematics reading ability of junior high school students is as follows:(1)From the overall situation,the mathematics reading ability of junior high school students is at the upper-middle level,but the degree of polarization is large;there is no significant difference in the mathematics reading ability of students of different genders.,and there are significant differences in different grades.The mathematics reading ability of students in the third grade is significantly higher than that of the students in the first grade.There is no significant difference between the first and second grades,and the second and third grades.(2)From different perspectives,in terms of character comprehension,language translation,and information screening and integration,the students as a whole are at an upper-middle level.However,there are greater difficulties in translating from descriptive representations to narrative representations.Information screening is better than information integration;In terms of reading metacognition and reading transfer and application,the students as a whole are at an intermediate level,but the number of people with high levels of reading metacognition is small,and there are difficulties in deep application after transfer;In addition to character comprehension and reading metacognitive dimensions,there are certain differences in language translation,information screening and integration,reading transfer and application dimensions in each grade.Based on the current survey results and interview analysis,it is concluded that the factors affecting junior high school students' math reading ability are external and internal factors.The external factors are curriculum and teaching,and the family environment affects students' mathematics reading ability;internal factors are the students' own reading habits and Ways,character comprehension,language translation,reading metacognition,information screening and integration,reading transfer and application affect mathematics reading ability.On the basis of studying the current situation of mathematics reading ability of junior high school students and the influencing factors,the strategies for cultivating students' mathematics reading ability are put forward from seven aspects in combination with specific cases:(1)Make use of home-school education to enhance mathematics reading awareness;(2)Strengthen reading Method guidance,cultivate mathematics reading habits;(3)Attach importance to concept understanding teaching,improve character comprehension ability;(4)Focus on practical problems,pay attention to geometry teaching,improve language translation ability;(5)Monitor problem-solving steps and improve reading meta-cognition;(6)Building a knowledge network and mastering marking methods can improve information screening and integration capabilities;(7)Infiltrating mathematical thinking methods and strengthening variant training can improve the ability of reading transfer application.
