In recent years,the Ministry of Education has issued a variety of policies,such as the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for Education Informatization",and the "Key Points of Educational Informatization and Cyber Security Work in 2019".They explicitly put forward the application of the STEAM education concept in primary and secondary education,and propose basic curriculum reforms to improve students’ core competencies and values.The interdisciplinary nature of the STEAM education concept has a certain degree of integration with the comprehensive nature of science course in junior high school in Zhejiang Province,and it is of great significance for the improvement of students’ core competencies and values.Many front-line teachers have applied this concept to the teaching of new science courses,and achieved good teaching results.But in the review class of science experiment,there is a large gap.The review class is not only to consolidate knowledges on the one hand,but also to test whether the scientific knowledges mastered by students can be used for practice.At present,the junior high school science experiment review classes mainly use explanation and exercises training,which restrict the development of students’ thinking and ability to a certain degree.Therefore,in this thesis,the STEAM education concept will be integrated into the review class of science experiment in junior high school within Zhejiang Province in order to improve students’ core competencies and values.The main contents of this research are as follows:(1)the developing situation of STEAM education at home and abroad,and the review class current status of science courses in junior high school in China are reviewed through literature research methods;(2)the attitude of students and teachers towards the science experiment review class of STEAM education concept is investigated through questionnaires and interviews.(3)based on the ADDIE model and the understanding of STEAM education concept,combined with the attitudes of students and teachers to the STEAM education concept,a new teaching model for science experiment review class is designed;(4)a “self-made buoyancy scale” teaching case is presented based on the new teaching model.In order to test the feasibility and effectiveness of the model,the teaching effect under the model is investigated and analyzed by questionnaires and exercise tests.Through the analysis of the results of the pre-test and post-test of the experimental and control classes,the science experiment review class based on the STEAM educational concept is effective and feasible in a certain teaching context.The practice is conducive to have the core competencies and values of students improved.
