With the continuous enhancement of China's economic strength and its international status,the number of people learning Chinese around the world is growing rapidly.Teaching Chinese as a foreign language(TCSL)is doing well in China.More and more foreigner students are studying in China,but most of them are still overseas.The teaching of Chinese as a foreign language(TCFL)in China has actively borrowed the advanced ideas of other countries in its development.China and Australia have close exchanges and there is broad space for the development of Chinese teaching in Australia.This paper takes the famous Indooroopilly state high school in Australia as the object to study the Chinese teaching situation in the school from three aspects of teachers,teaching materials and teaching methods through questionnaire,interview and observation.From the perspective of "three aspects of teachers,teaching materials and teaching methods ",there are still few precedents to investigate and analyze the Chinese teaching in overseas primary and secondary schools,and then discover and solve the problems.The whole paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is composed of four parts: research causes and significance,research method,literature review,concept definition and theoretical perspective.The second chapter introduces the educational environment and background,that is,the policy and current situation of foreign language teaching in Queensland,the Confucius Institute in the university of Queensland and the general situation of Indooroopilly state high school.The third chapter explains the design and implementation of the survey.The fourth chapter is the focus of this paper,through the investigation and record of Chinese teaching in the school,from the "teacher","textbook" and "teaching method" three aspects of the data collation and analysis.The teacher aspect,mainly is the teacher's basic situation,the qualification and the ability and receives the training condition.In terms of teaching materials,the author evaluates the teaching materials from the perspective of pertinence,practicability,interestingness,systematicness and scientificity,and finds out the problems.Teaching method,in the teaching method,classroom management and multimedia teaching three aspects need to improve the place.The fifth chapter summarizes the above analysis results,and puts forward corresponding optimization strategies for improving the quality of Chinese teaching in Indooroopilly state high school in the future,in order to provide some inspiration for Chinese teaching in primary and secondary schools overseas.
