The use of new media virtual space for science popularization can enhance users' multi-sensory and multi-dimensional imagination and experience.Nowadays, with the rapid development of emerging technologies, more and more schools have introduced AR science popularization software to assist education and teaching, but it is rare to use situational cognition theory to guide the design and development of AR education software.Under the guidance of the theory of situational cognition, this research uses the nine rare animals in my country as the learning content.Based on AR technology,an interactive software is designed and developed for scientific popularization, and the unique animal science knowledge is introduced through contextual display.Let young people feel the mystery of scientific knowledge in a realistic environment, stimulate learners' interest in learning about my country's unique and rare animals, promote the cultivation of students' emotional attitudes and values, and explore the effects of AR science popularization interactive software on education and teaching from the perspective of situational cognition Impact. In the first chapter, the background of the research is summarized, the feasibility and necessity of the research are explained, the purpose and significance of the research are put forward, the framework of the whole research is sorted out,and the main research methods are introduced. In the second chapter, the author defines the core concepts of situational cognition, augmented reality, and AR popular science software, and analyzes the latest domestic and foreign development trends of the research topic. In the third chapter, after conducting a demand survey of students and teachers, the overall design of the "Such a Precious Animal" AR science popularization interactive software is carried out.On this basis, the fourth chapter describes in detail the various links and key points of software development. And release and debug. In the fifth chapter, the developed AR science popularization interactive software is applied to elementary school science classroom teaching, and the data is obtained and analyzed through questionnaire survey, interview method, and experimental research method. The research results are guided by the theory of situational cognition. The AR science popularization interactive software designed and developed below has significant effects in improving students' learning enthusiasm, promoting knowledge acquisition, and cultivating emotional attitudes and values. The last chapter summarizes the application status of AR software in science education and the design principles of AR educational games, and summarizes the application effects of the software. In addition,it also lists the shortcomings of this research, and The future development of the research is prospected. This research mainly adopts literature research method, questionnaire and interview method, and experimental research method to carry out research work. The theory of situational cognition runs through the design and development of "rare animals" AR science interactive software, and proposes the design principles of AR educational software.Through the sorting and analysis of the application data,it is shown that the AR science popularization software designed and developed under the guidance of the contextual cognition theory has obvious effects in promoting students' knowledge acquisition, increasing learning interest, and cultivating emotional attitudes and values.AR software has good prospects for the development of situational teaching in the future. The combination of situational teaching aid software and comprehensive courses is one of the development directions of future education.
