With the continuous development of China's modern urbanization process and social economy,parents go out to work for a long time,and the left-behind children in mountainous areas generally have less communication with their parents.When they encounter problems,they usually don't get emotional support and feedback from their parents,which leads to some left-behind children's deviant behavior and psychological imbalance.In addition,they are faced with a more closed and backward living environment and material conditions,and their emotional expression and absorption usually come from peer groups,which are greatly influenced by peer groups' emotions,and lack of relevant education and guidance,so they are prone to the behavior deviation of their peers.Therefore,their peer emotional support needs extensive attention from the public.In this paper,the students of Grade 7,Grade 8 and Grade 9 in Ningxia mountainous middle schools are investigated,and the problems and needs of the left-behind children in local mountainous areas for peer emotional support are investigated.On the basis of questionnaire survey and data analysis,through the use of group work methods and case work methods in social work,the left-behind children can improve their self-cognition ability and self-confidence,and learn the communication and expression skills in emotional support in peer communication,as well as the methods to relieve bad emotions in peer communication.Through group activities,alleviate their problems in peer communication,and improve the self-confidence of left-behind children in mountain areas in peer communication and the skills of communicating with peer groups;Through case work,the clients can establish a positive and confident psychological state,relieve the clients' bad feelings in peer communication,create opportunities for clients to actively explain to friends,and improve clients' mastery and application of peer emotional support skills.This study only explores the peer emotional support of left-behind children in western mountainous areas.The peer emotional support of left-behind children in mountainous areas needs more attention from the state and society.Only by comprehensively establishing the grass-roots social work system in remote mountainous areas can we better provide peer emotional support services for left-behind children in mountainous areas.
